  1. THE ENCOUNTER OF ISLAMIC REVOLUTION WITH THE ATOMIC HELL
    By Allama Muhammad Yousuf Gabriel

During the last three centuries and a half, that is since the appearance of this philosophy of modern atomism, the spirit of religion has been gradually sapped by the ever-increasing influence of this Baconian, Science-guided, materialistic philosophy of progress, so that in these present times the philosophy of progress appears to have assumed complete sway over man’s mind. While religion exists merely like a shadow and a relic of the past, regarded generally as a private affair of the individual. The state of Islam, however, among the religions is a little different. It still exercises some influence on the mind of its followers. It still is extant in its pristine from intact. And it claims to contain the remedy of every ill and answer to every problem.
But the test of Islam now stands on the point whether it can save its followers from the flames of the atomic hell which now hangs on the horizons of this mankind in a most determined manner to consume this world. If, however, Islam intends to save its followers from the hazards of the atomic hell that is the atomic bombs and atomic radiations then it will have to avert the atomic threat not from the heads of its own followers, but the entire mankind. Because no nation alone can remain safe from the atomic storm as long as the atomic threat exists in the world. This actually is the test of Islam, because if this mankind is consumed by the atomic hell where lay then the necessity of the revival of Islam or the Islamic revolution. This argument may be countenanced by the fact, that if this mankind is consumed by the atomic hell of this present world, this mankind will see the atomic hell of the next eternal world (Al-Hotama) lying in wait for them, for not only the causes of the appearance of the atomic bomb and the causes of the punishment in Hotama are identical, but also the nature and the scientific characteristics of both are the same. Read the Chapter 104 Al-Homaza in the Quran and dread.
Islam thus needs a collision with the causes of the appearance of this worldly atomic hell in order to save this mankind from the flames both of this worldly atomic hell and the atomic hell of the next world that is Al-Hotama. But the followers of Islam being under the influence of a misunderstanding, that, “because Islam was not averse to progress, therefore it was not averse to this modern progress”, will negate the possibility of a collision between Islam and this modern progress which is the root-cause of the appearance of atomic hell. The compatibility between the view of the Quran and this modern science-guided progress they infer from the signs of the contemplation of the works of God (Ghaur-fil-Ayyaat), ignoring the difference between the objects of such contemplation which the Quran has set forth and which this modern progresses has in view.
The result of this misunderstanding of the followers of Islam will be that this entire mankind including the Muslims will be consumed by the atomic hell, and the actual teachings of the Quran will go in vain, while the Muslims will stand accused of failing the religion of Islam and mankind both. This modern progress is not merely progress, it is a continued, systematic, organized, eve-increasing and infinite process. And because it is ever-increasing, therefore, it will gradually occupy the mind and time of man in an ever-increasing manner, expelling at the same time and proportionally the thought of the other world, and therefore religion because religion is based on the thought of the other world, till eventually religion is completely expelled from man’s mind and time because this progress is infinite. This is a fact which can be observed by any-one. Nor it is very difficult to find that this process of progress ends in the flames of the atomic hell. Let therefore this fact be constantly kept in sight by anyone who desires to initiate the Islamic revolution. Let the ultimate goal of the Islamic revolution be the extinction of the atomic hell at any cost. Or else all the labour and sacrifice will be found to go in vain.
It might be argued in this respect, that Islam will succeed in creating an atmosphere of good will and no war. And the possibility of war and atomic war will be annihilated. And that the scientists will by and by achieve a control over the hazards of atomic energy. It is not possible here in this short article to discuss these views. What I am obliged to say in this respect is that no hopes could be as false or more absurd than these. The misfortune of this mankind is that most people are ignorant of the subject of atomic science. And also that they consider science as powerful and as wise as God himself. They do not know that the world of science is stuck up in atomic phenomenon. Man finds himself utterly helpless in this field. Atomic bombs and reactors look like things very imposing, but the actual thing is to achieve control over radiations and to discover sure cure for radiation sickness. And it appears well-nigh an improbability. Atomic hell is the wrath of God enkindled. It is divine punishment. No protection from divine punishment is possible.
Quran let it be known, whereas it prefers the other world to this present world and has not very favourable opinion of this world and its pleasures, it looks with the eye of bitterest displeasure at this modern Baconian progress of atomism. Just read the Chapter 104 Al-Homaza in the Quran and you will feel the intensity of the sentiment and the severity of the punishment. Yet it is surprising to observe that the people of these days despite their knowledge of the atomic hazards should not care for the dire situation. The Quran has challenged this age of Baconian atomism, and it has the ability to challenge. It champions the cause of all divine scriptures. But the views of the Quran have to be understood aright. If this world of Allah is consumed by the atomic hell due to this modern progress, it will not be because the Quran allowed this progress, but because the followers of the Quran failed to understand the views of the Quran correctly. The Muslims should stand up against the atomic bomb and should not rest till it is destroyed along with the causes of its appearance.
Muslims are stirring. They seek the revival of Islam. It is a blessed thought. Difficulties, however, are great and many. Muslims are not as yet clear on the views of the Quran about this philosophy of modern atomism and its result, the modern progress. But the greatest obstacle in the way of the revival of Islam is this modern progress, and most of the other difficulties have their origin in it. Before the Muslims stirred for the revival of Islam, this progress was the cause of their indifference toward Islam. And after they have stirred it will play the basic role in sapping their spirit and occupying their mind and time, and keeping them in constant worry about the worldly matters.
Judging from the prevailing atmosphere of this world, the ship of Islamic revolution seems to be sailing on an ocean of darkness and has at the same time a hole in its bottom from which water is continually pouring in. This hole is of the modern progress. The ocean of darkness no doubt is this Baconian culture of modern atomism. Unless therefore this hole is sealed, it appears difficult for the ship to reach the harbour. But how to seal this hole. The people cry for the necessities of life. The cruel, the ever-growing necessities. Nor it is possible for any one country to forsake this course of progress without the fear of disruption within an aggression from without.
Islamic revolution is essential, because it is the Islam that has eventually to fight the causes of the atomic hell out in order to save this mankind. Yet the obligation of this modern progress in these present circumstances does no appear possible for any one nation. What then should be done. The first requisite in this respect is that the Muslims should know and keep in mind their final goal that of destroying the atomic hell and saving this mankind. The second requisite I have endeavoured to provide in the form of a series of volumes. It is the fruit of my forty year labour. In these volumes the true reality of this philosophy of atomism and its consequences, and the relative views of the Quran have been revealed. When the mankind has read these works and their eyes are opened to the grim situation and the dire consequences, they will collectively chalk out some feasible programme to eliminate the threat. These volumes I have completed recently and are all unpublished as yet. It will be a great honour and a blessing to get them published. Which nation is destined to this honour is not known to me. 2. THE BACONIAN CULTURE AND THE ANTICHRIST
    By Allama Muhammad Yousuf Gabriel
After you have known the scientific and logical end of this Baconian culture in the flames of atomic hell, observe another, a very abominable destructive side of this culture. Know to your horror that this culture shows all those characteristics to the letter, which were attributed by the Holy Prophet of Islam, (peace be upon him) to the Messih-id-Dajjal (Antichrist) in a famous prophecy. Read the following characterization based on the points of the prophecy of the Holy Prophet.
    (1) “Messih-id-Dajjal is one-eyed, left-eyed. On its right eye is a wart of the size of a grape”.
This Baconian culture, this Baconian progress and this Baconian Science are all the three, one-eyed, left-eyed. Their basis is exclusively on materialism and has to do nothing with spiritualism or the next world. This modern science is confined to the five senses and is utterly blind in the spiritual world. Metaphysics, resurrection and the things on that side of the grave are outside its scope. Right eye is metaphorically associated with the spiritual, the left with material. The simile of the grape has its own meanings. It means that there are optic nerves behind, but it is the retina that is obscured by the grape. The same is the case of this Baconian culture and its other appendages. They inwardly have sense to perceive the notion of spiritualism but cannot believe.
(2). “Messih-id-Dajjal will rise from among the Jews”.
The entire mental, philosophical, social, economical, moral and political basis of this Baconian culture is on the Jewish culture. It reminds one of Shakespeare’s Shylock. The same desire of this world, the same greed of its wealth, the same usury, the same revengeful disposition, the same wolf in the skin of a sheep. And further do you not see, the Jew as the creator, master, model, guide and the moving spirit of this modern Baconian Culture. And do you not observe the compromise between the Christian and the Jew and the same could be said of every nation in this world today.
(3).”Messih-id-Dajjal riding his donkey will move on the tour of this world”.
Any one acquainted with the history of this modern culture, how it invented its railway engine, and other mechanical means of transport, and how it moved out on its engine on the tour of this earth, and how it completed its tour, will have no difficulty in understanding this statement that is, Messih-id-Dajjal riding his donkey will move out to tour this earth. As far as the metaphor, rather the simile of donkey is concerned; it is well known that since the beginning of history, donkey has been regarded as the symbol of conveyance. This modern age stands as distinct in having its own mechanical mode of conveyance and transport against the donkey of the past pre-modern ages in contradistinction. There are two donkeys. One has been created on biological lines, the other on mechanical.
(4).”Massih-id-Dajjal will carry with him baskets of loaves and will distribute them among his followers”.
The Baconian culture is basically the culture of loaves. They who follow this Baconian culture receive loaves and are better off economically.
(5).”Canals will move along with Messih-id-Dajjal”. See the map of the world to know that wherever this Baconian culture goes, a network of canals appears there.
    (6) .”Messih-id-Dajjal will command the crop to grow, and it shall grow up instantaneously. He will command the cloud to rain and it shall rain”.
The care and the speed with which the crops are grown in this age is a fact worth observing. So also is the process of making artificial rain from the clouds. So that this artificial rain is even used as a war tactics to destroy the crops of the enemy.
    (7) .”Messih-id-Dajjal will have his own paradise and hell”.
But his paradise actually will be hell, and his hell paradise. The entire enterprise of this Baconian culture is an endeavour to create a material paradise on earth. They who follow this Baconian culture enter this paradise, but it is hell. They who ignore this Baconian culture, they are cast into the hell of poverty and disgrace. Yet they are in the paradise. Observable also is the fact, that this paradise of Baconian culture is now in the range of the atomic hell, which has appeared in a very appropriate manner as the divine punishment, and the logical and scientific conclusion of the process of Baconian progress.
(8).”Messih-id-Dajjal will first claim his prophet hood, then God-head”.
This Baconian culture first convinces the people with argument about the validity of its views on the line of prophet hood. Then due to complete dependence on its methods and resources, the people are obliged to treat it as God. Today there is much more dependence of the people on science and technique than is their trust in real God.
    (9) .”Messih-id-Dajjal will not be allowed to enter the mosque”.
They therefore who will take refuge in the mosque will be able to escape his irresistible enticement.
Today, the scope of religion is confined to the mosque. Outside the mosque the entire field of worldly matters is ruled by Baconian culture.
    (10) .”The letters KFR that is Kefir (Infidel) will be inscribed on the forehead of Messih-id-Dajjal. A believer even though illiterate will be able to read the inscription, let the infidel even if literate will fail to see them”.
The same is with this Baconian culture a PhD, DSc, F.R.S might well appear ignorant of the true nefarious reality of this Baconian culture, while an ignorant cobbler might inwardly know the pernicious side of the Baconian affair.
    (11) “Messih-d-Dajjal will be a gilder”.
This Baconian culture is a gilder too. Usury softened and diluted is named as “Interest”. Gambling is named as “Lottery” and “Racing”. Every evil is gilded and made to appear as no evil, even a virtue. Gilding is a prominent, all-pervading feature of the Baconian culture, and affords a very interesting, astonishing study.
(12).”Jesus Christ will kill Messih-id Dajjal”.
None else can. This Baconian culture can be destroyed only by the otherworldliness, and preference of the next world to this present world. This virtue is associated with the name of Jesus Christ, although it is amply to be found in the Quran also. The Prophet of Islam, (peace be upon him) declared poverty as his pride.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ has used the word “Anti-Christ” that apparently means as one who is against the Christ or is enemy of Christ. But the Holy Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) has not merely called him (a liar, a swindler etc.) but has called him as Messih-id-Dajjal, that is one that appears as Messih but is a swindler, that is he appears in the guise and garb of Christ yet is only a simulant. It is interesting to observe that every thing that Christ did is done also by this Baconian culture, yet the whole affair is of opposite nature. We will see first the resemblance:-
1 Christ fed a crowd of four thousand with only seven loaves and a few fish.
This Baconian culture has made it its abusiveness to feed the people.
2 Christ healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, and made the lame whole. This
Baconian culture has developed the art of healing and has erected hospitals.
3 Christ raised the dead. This Baconian culture has lavished remarkable attention
on this experiment but has not succeeded hitherto.
4 Christ showed miracles. So did this Baconian culture. It showed the miracles of
    Science. Miracles indeed astonishing.
5 Christ walked on water. This Baconian culture made iron to float. See iron ships
.Christ rode the donkey made by God. The Baconian culture has made its own
Donkey of iron. See the mechanical means of transport. This factor would
raise the Baconian culture to Godhead, as a Creator.
    6. Christ made birds of clay. And breathed in them and they went away flying.
This Baconian culture made aircraft and caused it to fly.
7 Christ heard mysterious voices. This Baconian culture devised radio.
8 Christ contended with the devil in a dialogue. This Baconian culture produced
    television.
Yet there exists exact Anti-thesis between the work of Christ and that of this Baconian culture. Christ did every thing through Spiritual agency while this Baconian culture achieved through material means. Also, the eye of Christ was on the next-world. While the eye of this Baconian culture is on this present world.
The Holy Prophet of Islam (Peace be upon him) said to the Jews, “Christ came and parted. But you did not recognize him. Now your Christ will come but he will be the Messih-id-Dajjal, the lying Christ”. The afflicted Jews did for thousands of years weep in misery for their expected Messiha. The last national conference of their Rabis to investigate the coming of their Messiha was held in Europe in the beginning of this Baconian age. But then they completely forgot their Messiha. As if, they achieved that object for which they used to remember their Messiha.
In this Baconian age their culture pervaded the entire world. All their sufferings and afflictions ceased and they obtained a place of leadership of this world. They had their kingdom established all over the earth. The Muslims too always had remembered Messih-id-Dajjal. But since a decade they have completely forgotten him. Neither a mention is ever made from the pulpit of the mosque nor in a private conversation. The mention of resurrection, the torments of grave, Messih-id-Dajjal and Mehdi has been substituted by the mention of life, production, progress and science respectively.

  3. THE CAUSES OF THE APPEARANCE OF BACONIAN CULTURE
    By Allama Muhammad yousuf Gabriel
The causes of the appearance, acceptance and prevalence of the philosophy of Bacon and consequently of the Baconian culture are basically two. Firstly the peculiar and particular state of Christian religion, and the state of religion in general all over the world at the time of the appearance of Bacon’s philosophy in seventeenth century. And secondly a universal wave of the desire of wealth and power and ostentation that had reached its climax by that time particularly in the west. Muslims by then divested of higher, universal ideals of Islam and sapped, moved in eddys wherein the various sects and schisms continually harangued over the superfluous matters, gyrating all the while in the same eddys engrossed in worldly problems, and engaged in worldly disputes. Politics had superseded the element of religion. Religion and politics were alienated, and religion had lost its proper place. Corruption on lower levels too was considerable due to general ignorance of the people about Islam.
Sheik Sirhindi, a contemporary of Francis Bacon (1561-1626) was seen to affect reform in Islamic religion in general and against the imposture of Emperor Akbar in particular. That the basic doctrines of Islam could not have been changed or seriously distorted in any age is the miracle of Islam itself and of the Quran whose protection God himself has guaranteed.
Far worse, we should say, unspeakably, inexpressibly, unimaginably worse was the sate of the religion of Christianity. Christianity in those times could be seen as a huge mass of innovated and framed up doctrines that went by the name of Christianity. The hierarchical Government of the Christian church that functioned in the name of Jesus Christ, and wielded limitless power, possessed palaces, treasures and gardens, and ate in utensils of Gold and silver, and preached at the same time Christian poverty from the pulpit, had become a symbol of terror, tyranny and hypocricy in the eyes of western Christendom, and appeared as an anathema, even something worse than that, which the followers of Christian religion wanted with most impatient hearts to get rid of, with their hearts at the same time burning with the desire of the feast of nature that was spread before their eyes, and which they had seen the followers of Islam enjoying in a state of enviable glory. The state of Hinduism and Buddhism was not much different from Christianity, both as regards religion, and worldly desires.
As far as the desire of wealth is concerned, it is well-known, that it was imbedded in the very nature of man. And it finds no bounds. No amount of wealth could appease man’s desire of wealth. But the few centuries preceding the appearance of Bacon’s philosophy show a particular picture of mankind regarding the love of wealth. Muslims in their full glory presented a spectacle of wealth and opulence that was the envy of the west. The tale of Arabians nights had taken all contentment out of the heart of the Christian west, and rendered the people of the west mad after wealth, power, ostentation and worldly glory, and they never understood the spirit or the system of Islam. How better it would have been for them to reform their religion, and rediscover the pristine beauty and simplicity of Christ’s teachings. Some among them, indeed had tried it, but the bones of those who had tried it were excavated from their graves by the command of the church authorities, and were for the interests of the church, burned as heretics for having attempted to re-introduce the original spirit of Christ’s religion. The other alternative was to embrace Islam and partake of the Islamic glory, for indeed Islamic glory could have been achieved only within the structure of Islamic religion. But they wanted to go on their way to glory independent of religion, and they fell in the ditch, the atomic ditch, and behind them they dragged the entire mankind to burn in the atomic pit. These were the circumstances of the world then, that no sooner Bacon trumpeted his advocation of the fruitful philosophy of materialistic atomsim of the world than the predisposed west felt to it with one accord as their redeemer, and did all that was humanly possible to make it a success, and did indeed succeed in making it a success, but alas! To what end.
Although the Christian west is directly responsible for the adoption of Baconian philosophy and its universal prevalence, and the consequent appearance of the Baconian hell, yet other nations could not be totally absolved from the guilt. Especially the Muslim nation, due to its especial position in the world in those times, stands liable, to especial accusation. Nay, if the westerns would resort to their defence against this particular charge, it could with much plausibility be shifted onto the Muslims. The duty of teaching and preaching the doctrines of Islam to all mankind, and commanding that which is good, and forbidding that which is evil is a duty incumbent on the Muslims, but the west and indeed all the Non-Muslim world never heard of a preacher of Islam, nor a Muslim tried to check them in their march toward the atomic hell on their path of Baconian philosophy, although Allah has appointed the Muslim nation as a witnesses against mankind. Allah in the Quran says:-
“Thus have we appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the prophet may be witness against you”.
    (Quran 2×143)
And has appointed the Muslim nation as the best community to enjoin good and forbid evil in the world. The Quran says:-
“Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid the evil, and ye believe in God”.
    (Quran 3×110)
But the question is what the Muslims did in order to stop the Baconian philosophy, since it was openly antagonistic to the religion of God, and was posed as challenge to the community of religion on earth? The answer is nothing whatsoever. They even did not try to understand.
But the apprehension of the Holy Prophet of Islam, (peace be upon him), about the Muslim proved only too true when he said:-
“As regards my followers the thing which I feel most apprehensively is that they will begin to follow their worldly desires, and will begin to entertain lengthy and elaborate worldly designs and expectations. And the result of their abiding by the lust of their heart will be that they will cast way farther from the truth, and their worldly plans will cause them to forget the next world. O People! This world has left and it is going. And the next world has left and is coming. And each of these (worlds) has its believers that love it. It is better for you, that you do not choose the worship of this world. You at present are in the house of deeds, and the time of judgment has not yet come. Tomorrow you should be in the house of reckoning where there will be no possibility of deeds”.
    (Miskhat- quoted by Jaber)
    And:-
“O my people, I entertain no apprehensions regarding you, that you will fall to idol worship. But what I am apprehensive of about you is that you might be engrossed in the world”.
History shows that Muslims have never fallen to idols-worship but that they are engrossed in the world cannot be denied. The Muslims have a history which is glorious both secularly and religiously beyond comparison. But there are two standards of judgment. If the history of Muslims is seen in reference to the general human facilities, that is on general human standards, and in comparison to other communities, then the case is simply without a parallel but the stand of Islam is too high and is strict. As strict as the rule of nature itself is, and the smallest flaw or the slightest fault has such telling effects that the blame of the appearance of the atomic hell in this world may with justice traced to the short comings and failings of the Muslims of medieval ages. The abrogation of caliphate and reinstatement of dynastic monarchy by the Muslims is a very dark spot and is a turning point in the history of Muslims and is indicative of weakness, similar to that of Adam, the progenitor of mankind in paradise, which influenced the future course not only of the history of the Muslims, but of the entire human race. But the neglect of the Muslims regarding the Baconian philosophy and the relative events reverberated on them. They were enslaved and subjected to a most disgraceful and painful punishment in abject slavery, servility and dependence. And besides that they will share the general doom with mankind in the atomic hell of this world and also of the next world. The Jews that were once regarded as a detestable people, hold the destinies of nations in their hands in this Baconian age, and the Muslims are their slavish dependents. The warnings of the Quran have proved only too true, and still the Muslims are completely in the dark about the Quran’s views of this Baconian progress, and the reality of this Baconian progress, and its hazards in this world, and its hazards in the next world.
Far worse was the state of Christians at about the time of Renaissance. And because the religion of the people is the same as is the religion of their kings, the condition of the mind of general Christendom of that time may be seen in the condition of their kings and princes then. While the priestly community of the western Christendom was a symbol of tyranny, hypocrisy and avarice, the princes of Christendom and the Lord’s anointed kings vied with each other in the love of riches, and ostentation. H.G. Wells has left us a description that may serve asa guide. He writes:-
“Louis XIV of France, the grand monargue, (1643-1715) was indeed a pattern king of Europe …………..He provoked a universal imitation. Every king and princelet is Europe was building his own Versailles as much beyond his means as his subjects and credits would permit. Everywhere the nobility rebuilt or extended their chateaux to the new pattern. A great industry of beautiful and elaborate fabrics and furnishings developed. The luxurious arts flourished everywhere; sculpture in Alabaster, Faience, gilt woodwork, metal work, stamped leather, much music, magnificent painting, beautiful printing and bindings, fine crockery, fine vintages, amidst the mirrors and fine furniture went a strange race of “Gentlemen” in tall powdered wigs, silks and laces, poised upon high red heels, supported by amazing canes; and still more wonderful : “Ladies” under towers of powdered hair and wearing vast expansions of silk and satin sustained on wire. Through it all postured the great Louis, the sun of his world, unaware of the meagre and sulky and bitter faces that watched him from those lower darkness to which his sunshine did not penetrate”.
(H.G.Wells -A Short History of the world . Page 222)
How little these princes and princlets did realize then that they merely were acting as the puppets and buffoons of the approaching simulant of Jesus Christ. And the end of that buffoonery was the atomic hell. Louis and all his imitators have along with their pomp and show gone the usual way, but the result of their pomp led the world onto an unusual way into the flames of Baconian hell, and with apology to Voltaire, the worst of all the possible hells. How it is to be wished that poor Comedian were alive today to see the worst of all possible hells as against the leibmizian best of all possible worlds, which he is in his life-time had held up to very exquisite ridicule in his romance called the Candid (1757). Could we expect him to do the same with the expressions of the atomists, the builders of atomic bombs of this age. This Baconian culture is the most confounding of all the most confounding of the cultures ever appeared on this earth. And yet lends itself to the clearest of the analytical explanations. The light of faith, and the sight of faith, however, is the condition to understand its reality.

And happens to be the only guidance in the world today that leads this world out of the nuclear hell and this modern materialism which is the mother of the Nuclear Hell. ========================== BACON’S PHILOSOPHY ================================ The name of Bacon (1561-1624), the founder of Modern Philosophy of Atomism is unknown now though his philosophy pervades the entire world. In my view, Bacon is the Satan the second. He seduced the posterity of Adam exactly in the same manner as Satan the first, had seduced Adam. And see the philosophy of Bacon. It is the exact antithesis of revealed religion. I am bound to tell this world strange things but I will not utter a word without a scientific and logical proof. Satan had promised Adam the place of an angel and an eternal kingdom and the revelation of mysteries, if Adam would taste the forbidden tree. This ruined Adam. Bacon’s Philosophy, is man’s Dominion Over Nature as man’s destiny through continuous, systematic research of Science, for man’s Material benefit, as a command of God to man. This means, the revelation of the mysteries of the universe and an eternal kingdom over the forces of nature and this has brought Adam’s posterity to atomic ruin. The pursuit of moral philosophy according to Bacon is man’s repetition of and persistence in the act of Adam’s first transgression that of eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The pursuit of moral philosophy is thus forbidden. You might say: Impossible, it simply cannot be believed that Bacon or anyone could have given such a nasty philosophy or could have gone unchecked, for this is a philosophy not only against the revealed religion, but it also sounds fantastic. Then read Bacon’s both the works. Both are still extant. Read and Judge. Again you could say, to hell with Bacon’s philosophy, we believe in our own religion. You may be told that you follow Bacon’s philosophy to its letter without your knowledge of it and to hell indeed this philosophy has carried this world. I will tell you. How is that? See Baconian progress. THIS BACONIAN PROGRESS: Bacon’s philosophy was man’s dominion over nature through continuous and systematic research of science for material benefit of mankind in general as the command of God to Adam as man’s destiny, forbidding at the same time the pursuit of moral philosophy. That you might not know, but do you know this Baconian progress. It is endless and eternal endeavor to obtain dominion over nature in an ever-increasing manner, through endless, eternal, continuous, systematic, ever-increasing research of Science, for the material benefit of mankind in general. You cannot deny this fact, but see. It is an ever-increasing process. And what does this mean? It means that it will gradually occupy man’s mind and time expelling at the same time the thought of the next world and religion, and because it is eternal, it will ultimately expel the thought of the next world and religion completely from man’s mind, and this transition is perceptible. No religion therefore except that which is willing to sign the warrants of its own exile could allow this sort of progress. The result of the Science-Christianity-conflict is before the eyes of this world. How science has gradually prevailed and the Christian religion gradually declined to its disappearance. The same could be said of this science, and besides that it is no more than a handmaid of this progress and a mere instrument of the material exploitation of the works of God. The thought of those, therefore who expect to balance this progress with religion is merely a false illusion. You might say, well, we do not want religion. You might well say that, but this world cannot exist in peace without religion, while this progress is sure to cast this world into the atomic hell as its logical end. You might say, well, we will apply a break to this progress at the critical point. I wish you could. But it is simply impossible. This process must necessarily lead to its end, if the application of a break had been possible, no better occasion for such an action could be now when the world despite its knowledge of the ruinous hazards of atomic energy is obliged to adopt atomic energy due to the ever-dwindling sources of harmless or less harmful means of energy. To ban atomic energy means the cessation of the industrial set up, and consequently the famine. To adopt atomic energy means certain ruin of mankind into the atomic hell. Now therefore progress and science or religion. You may be assured on knowledge, that all the boundless confidence of common people in atomic science, and all the expectations of the atomic scientists touching radiations’ control, and all the hopes of the politicians in avoiding the atomic war for ever, are only a dream whose interpretation is no other than the flames of atomic hell. They who consider this progress as natural and endless are in error. These strong, wide spread monuments of science might disappear in the twinkling of an eye in the event of atomic war, or may be left unoccupied as the memorials of the folly of a species on earth, after the radiations of world-wide atomic energy-for-peace, have annihilated life on earth. And indeed, the signs regarding the contemplation of the works of God, (Ghaur-e-Aayaat) to be found in the Quran in great profusion, do not show any justification of this Baconian progress, nor indeed, do the signs of the conquest of nature (Taskhir-e-Kaayinat) that are to be found in the Quran with equal profusion, show any justification of this Baconian progress. This is the grossest misunderstanding in which the present day Muslims are involved. What they fail to observe when they read the Quran, is the respective objects of the Quran and this Baconian progress regarding the contemplation of the works of God. The Quran nowhere appears to cast so much as a hint on the material exploitation of the works of God through contemplation, and the object of contemplation is to realize the purpose of creation, and the certainty of resurrection, and the remembrance of God and his religion, while the purpose of this Baconian progress is exclusively the material exploitation. Again, as far as the conquest of nature is concerned, it is Allah who always in the Quran has, attributed the act of rendering all this world serviceable to man, and never once is to be found therein an allusion toward man’s following the suit or emulating Allah, nor is to be found a hint at material exploitation. Gratitude of man rather is expected by Allah, for this favour. Remarkable also is the term dominion over nature used by Bacon. Neither the Quran, nor any other revealed religion would allow the right of dominion to man. The right of dominion is exclusively the right of Allah. Indeed it might appear in-comprehensible now, but when the real argument has come, that no-doubt will appear conclusive. I mean the atomic destruction through atomic bombs or radiation. There is yet another misunderstanding in the mind of the Muslims. Quran no doubt has enjoined the Muslims to keep armament in readiness. But it has to be decided, whether atomic bomb is a weapon. The scientist has given it out as a means of total annihilation of life on earth, while the Quran has called it by the dreadful name of atomic hell. This progress now is no progress. It is in eddy-now, and it is regression not progression. Man due to this notion of man’s dominion over nature has developed the notion of Becoming God himself. Dependence on God has dwindled, while full trust is placed in science. The notion of material benefit has changed this mankind into a cloud of locusts, moving toward the zone of atomic spray to be sprayed to death. Contentment, religious sentiment, moral values are disappearing, selfishness, greed, frustration, mental, physical, social, economic, legal and political confusion is on ever-increase. Intensity of hunger and dearth of sources might change this mankind into cannibals. Bacon’s Philosophy ultimately has failed miserably. Regarding man’s dominion over nature, man after his success in steam and electricity is now caught in, the field of atomic science without any hope of success. The Giant Atumbumb appears to be a contestant far too formidable for the dwarfish human being. The end is surely the atomic ruin. Know that there is simply no protection possible against either the atomic bomb or atomic radiation, and there is no possibility despite scientist’s optimism, who is guilty of gross violation of the general rule of the methodology of science by recommending the use of atomic-energy-for-peace without first obtaining control over radiation, or providing means of protection to the millions residing in the neighbour-hood of reactors. For this, the scientist may be sued in the court of science. As far as hunger is concerned, Baconian progress has failed to appease it. More production means more demand like fission Chain Reaction. Man’s appetite is inappeasable, and will remain so far ever, as was predicted by the Holy Prophet of Islam. Also this Baconian culture shows all the characteristics which were attributed by the Holy Prophet to the Messih-id-Dajjal. And the end of this Baconian progress is sure destruction, there is no doubt about it, but the question is, whether this mankind like a wise pilot will be able to bale out in time or will be consumed by the flames with the plane. No alternative now remains for this mankind but either to perish suddenly under the hails of atomic bombs, deservedly or to die slowly, lingeringly, in the radiations of atomic-energy-for-peace, deservedly. Will this mankind consider? ========================== THE BACONIAN CULTURE AND THE ANTI-CHRIST ================================ After you have known the scientific and logical end of this Baconian culture in the flames of atomic hell, observe another, a very abominable destructive side of this culture. Their basis is exclusively on materialism and have to do nothing with spiritualism or the next world. As far as the metaphor, rather the simile of donkey is concerned, it is well known that since the beginning of history, donkey has been regarded as the symbol of conveyance. (7) .”””Messih-id-Dajjal will have his own paradise and hell”. (10) .”The letters KFR that is Kafir (Infidel) will be inscribed on the forehead of Messih-id-Dajjal. A believer even though illiterate will be able to read the inscription, let the infidel even if literate will fail to see them”. The same is with this Baconian culture a Ph.D, D.Sc, F.R.S might well appear ignorant of the true nefarious reality of this Baconian culture, while an ignorant cobbler might inwardly know the pernicious side of the Baconian affair. (11) .”Messih-d-Dajjal will be a gilder”. We will see first the resemblance:- 1 Christ fed a crowd of four thousand with only seven loaves and a few fish. This Baconian culture has made it its abusiveness to feed the people. 2 Christ healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, and made the lame whole. This Baconian culture has developed the art of healing and has erected hospitals. 3 Christ raised the dead. This Baconian culture has lavished remarkable attention on this experiment but has not succeeded hitherto. 4 Christ showed miracles. So did this Baconian culture. It showed the miracles of science. Miracles indeed astonishing. 5 Christ walked on water. This Baconian culture made iron to float. See iron ships. Christ rode the donkey made by God. The Baconian culture has made its own donkey of iron. See the mechanical means of transport. This factor would raise the Baconian culture to Godhead, as a Creator. 6 Christ made birds of clay. And breathed in them and they went away flying. This Baconian culture made aircraft and caused it to fly. 7 Christ heard mysterious voices. This Baconian culture devised radio. 8 Christ contended with the devil in a dialogue. This Baconian culture produced television. ========================== EFFECTS OF BACONIAN PROGRESS ========================== A world-shaking and seismic revolution is necessary to uproot this Baconian philosophy and shake away its logical end, that is the atomic hell which is now about to consume this entire mankind in a painful manner. A man who utters such words may well be regarded by this world as one with something wrong with his mind. Though the fact is that all the four thousand million people, that now inhabit this earth without any doubt have a deranged mind and are possessed by the Baconian devil. No less than a burning atomic hell itself is there the authority to attest this very unfortunate observation, nor can, I recommend them a visit to the psychiatrist, for, the psychiatrist himself is the victim of the same Malady. This generation is like the legendary strangers changed into mules by the magic of the princes, but hey know it not that they are changed into Baconian mules by the magic of this Baconian culture. No doubt the roots of this Baconian culture are so deep in this earth, and indeed it so overwhelmingly pervades the entire field of human life including the human heart and mind, that nothing short of severe world-wide earth-quake in their mind could remove it and its logical consequence; the atomic hell. But the question is, what kind of a revolution it ought to be, evidently the question of war is excluded. None is at war against any one regarding this Baconian progress. The entire world is of one creed in this field. Every one follows the principles of Baconian progress. Obviously the war of weapons will make the people more dependent on progress for the necessities of war, food and weapons. The only possible way to achieve the end is through the revolution of thought. People have to be acquainted with the true nature of this progress and all the dreadful hazards that are incident on it. My interpretation of Quran’s prophecy about the atomic hell serves this purpose best being the only guidance of this kind in the world today or hereafter. Late Bertrand Russell had started a movement against the atomic war. But that movement after no great success during the lifetime of Russell died out completely with his death. Today nowhere a voice is heard against the atomic war. The world it appears has either acquiesced in the divine decree or has completely lost the sense of the dire consequences. Russell, however, deserves hearty gratitude of mankind for his sympathetic attitude toward humanity, and his great painstaking. The difficulty of the case is apparent. A few years that have elapsed since Russell’s death have produced some noticeable change in the attitude of the people towards the atomic energy. There appears a great and ever-increasing anxiety in the mind of the people all over the world relative to the increase of their knowledge of the astounding hazards of nuclear science. Yet all this may be regarded as no more than ripples on the surface of the ocean whose depths are still calm. This world is still engaged incessantly in the progress. And because Russell’s analysis of the case was soft and partial, and mine is complete, and harsh, this apparent stir and anxiety of the people against the atomic energy may or may not be expected to favour much my case. Considerations, however, have to be cast away. The matter is one of great urgency. The consequences are to horrid to allow considerations. Come what may. God is my help. Regarding the necessity of an earthquake to break the frigidity of the present thought of this mankind, Iqbal has a very vivid impression. He says in a poem:- (i) All are imprisoned in the prison which they have themselves built whether they may be the stationaries of the orient or the planetaries of the occident. (ii) Whether they may be the hierarchies of the Christian Church or whether they be the Sheikhs of Haram (Kaba), they are devoid of Novelty in word or deed. (iii) The politicians are engaged in same old kind of entanglements, and the poet is the victim of the similar indigence of imagination. (iv) The world is in need of that Mehdi-in-truth whose look causes an earthquake in the world of thought. (ZARB-E-KALEEM page 44) To these categories may now be added the atomic scientist. The atomic scientist now blindly gropes in the darkened labyrinth of nuclear science facing the fiery labyrinthodom of atomic bomb. Many people do not know that no protection is possible against the atomic radiation. Few people only know that no protection is possible against the atomic bomb. The scientist stands in a fix. His optimism is based on no substantial grounds. The earth-quake necessary to break this frigidity of thought is enshrined in the prophecy of the Quran about the atomic bomb. This Baconian progress is based on the love of this world and its wealth. The revolution being an antidote has to be based on Faqr (Poverty) and the preference of the next world to this world. Iqbal has a very appropriate suggestion in this respect. He says in a poem:- (i)You have asked me the reality of Immamat (divine leadership), May Allah make you like me, a knower of mysteries. (ii) The very same is the Imam (Divine Leader of the Muslim Nation) in truth, who would create hatred in your heart for whatever exists at present: That is: Wipes out the sense of worldly loss and profit from your heart. (iii) By showing you the face of the beloved in the mirror of death would make life for you harder still. (iv) Would heat up your blood by rousing the sense of loss (of the other world), in your mind, and fashion you into a sword on the grinder of poverty. (v) The Immamat (Divine Leadership) of any one who would make the Muslim a worshiper of Kings is a seduction of the Muslim Nation. (ZARB-E-KALEEM. Page 46). Iqbal has used the word Salatin (kings). If this word is substituted by the word Kharatin which fits well with rhyme and rhythm, the picture is changed to the affair of this Baconian progress, for the word Kharatin means earthworms. The Baconian people of this age are the worshippers of earth worms. Poverty, and death advocated by Iqbal for the revolution are the factors which counteract this Baconian progress. And obviously the worship of this Baconian culture and its material progress advocated by the Imam (the leader of the Muslim Nation) is a seduction. Judging from the difficulties of such a revolution, a point worth remembering in Iqbal’s Works may be cited as follows:- “Neither schemes nor are swords of any avail in slavery. If the spirit of certainty appears, the chains are severed. Resolute, unshakable faith, incessant endeavor and love: (the conqueror of the world): are the words of the valiant in the struggle of life”. A strange allusion is to be found in Iqbal’s Work regarding a certain proved seduction. Read the following:- (i) “Open thine eye in the mirror of my word and see therein a faint picture of the coming age. (ii) “Another proved seduction is in the hands of heaven therein. See the disgrace of the scheme before the decreed destiny”. Now an example of proved seduction is before my eyes quite vividly. The seduction of Bacon is the same as was affected by Satan that had resulted in the expulsion of Adam from paradise. The seduction was repeated by Bacon (1561-1626), that has resulted in casting the posterity of Adam into the atomic hell. In case of Adam at least there was a possibility for anyone to return to the paradise, but in the case of this Baconian seduction the end is in this transient atomic hell, with a transition to the eternal atomic hell of the next world that is Hotama, the subject of Quran’s Prophecy about the atomic hell. Satan had induced Adam to taste the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil on the promise of a change into an angel, and the prize of eternal dominion, and the revelation of internal mysteries. Bacon induced the posterity of Adam to enter the worldly paradise on the promise of the dominion over nature and material bliss and the revelation of the mysteries of this universe through science. Adam was expelled from paradise, and his posterity is cast into atomic hell. This mankind, however, will be saved from the flames of atomic hell by the mercy of Allah. ================================ PROPHECY OF THE ATOMIC HELL ========================== Now raise the Baconian veil from your eye and see two souls engaged in mutual conflict. One of these is enkindling the atomic pyre for the mankind. The other is endeavouring to put this fire out to save the mankind. Recognize them. The former is the soul of Democritus, the founder of the philosophy of ancient Greek atomism. The latter is the soul of Abraham who was during his life cast into the burning pyre by Nemrud and had emerged, without so much as a hair on his body singed. Democritus-Abraham-Conflict might come as a revelation to you, but the struggle began at the very outset of this age of modern atomism. Francis Bacon (1561-1626) the founder of the Philosophy of modern atomism appeared in the West with his new Philosophy. Mujjaddid Aliph Thani (1564-1624) appeared in the East with his reformation. Spinoza (1632-77) gave his philosophy of Material Wahdatul Wajud (that is the Material Unity of Existence) to the West. Shah Walliullah Muhaddith of Delhi (1703-63) appeared in the EAST with his Spiritual Wahdatul-Wajud and reformation. This is not the case of merely the coincidence of dates, but rather a close relation occurs in the subjects of these luminaries. The contest was there without their knowing each other. The providence had so arranged according to a deep-rooted and far-reaching scheme. The year of 1905 was landmark in the History of Atomism. It was in this year that Einstein had by his Special Relativity disentangled the research of atomic energy from the disappointing eddy and put it on its course onward. It was in the same year, that Iqbal was sent to the West. Iqbal’s eye was opened there to the reality of the Western Culture and was also opened on the Abrahamic Mission. Iqbal who if he had not gone to the West, might have died as a renowned poet of India or even perhaps no poet at all, returned from the West crying:- “This age is in quest of its Abraham” And he had seen:- “Fire, the posterity of Abraham and Nemrud”. And had suspected the possibility of a test of the Abrahamitese:- “Is the test of any one by any one again purposed?” And he proclaimed his own role in the Abrahamic Mission saying:- “I have been commended to cry the call for the prayers”. This last poem of Iqbal in toto is the manifest of the Abrahamic Mission. No doubt he only will understand Iqbal who will see him through the spectacle of Abrahamic Mission. Then only it will be known, what Iqbal has done as a crier to prayers in the Abrahamic Mission. Judge his conflict with the modern philosophy in favour of Islamic Philosophy, and you shall know his place as well as his work. Then came the most critical year in the course of Atomism. The Great Italian Physicist Enrico Fermi, had in the year of 1942, ultimately and actually opened the gate of atomic fire on this world by his successful realization of Uranium Fission Chain Reaction in Chicago. In 1945 its first flame leapt on Hiroshima and consumed it. The Democritus-Abraham-Conflict had entered in its final round. It was in this very same year of 1942, that in Mussayyib, a place near Baghdad, in my 25th year, Saint Al-Khedhr, the green turbaned recommended me to Abraham for Ibrahamic Mission in a dream, in which I saw also the interpretation of the first 18 verses of the 53rd Chapter (Alnjam) of the Quran in picture including the lots tree (Sidra-tul-Muntaha), which is in seventh heaven as the abode of angel Gabriel and is the repository of revealed scriptures. I at that time could read the Quran though, but without knowing its meanings. Then ensued a most gruesome intellectual ordeal in most adverse circumstances, that resulted in the interpretation of the 36 word prophecy of the Quran about the atomic hell, ranging over 3000 pages in 12 volumes in English languages, a work that according to my conceit, not all the leading philosophers and scientists of this modern age combined could have produced with ease, if at all they could have produced it, and all that knowledge I gained without a teacher, languages, literatures, histories, philosophies, sciences, scriptures, I studied to their classical bounds. How I managed is a question far beyond the scope of Freudian Psychological analysis while to describe the excruciating circumstances in which I completed this pilgrimage is a topic not for a poor John Bunyan to treat. I was simply cast into the atomic hell in which I still find myself and there in the chafing flames I read and I observed and I recorded my observations. I have had an experience unique in all the history of intellect, the case of the divine revelation to the prophets excepted. And remember that I clear myself of every pretext to divinity, or divine authority. Nay even I do not base my work on the divine authority of the Quran itself. It is on the science and the rational logic, the subjects of this age, that my work is based. It was in 1964, that Late Bertrand Russel in reply to my letter sent his conclusive word on the destiny of mankind. It was a sad surmise. It was sheer disappointment: “Since Adam and Eve,” said Russell “ate the apple man has never abstained from any folly of which he was capable of and the end…… is atomic annihilation”. Now, unfortunately the surmise of Russell logically and scientifically was correct. But my discovery of the prophecy of the Quran about atomic hell, saved me from the same disappointment about this mankind later at my death bed. The prophecy breathed hope in that, that by removing the causes of the appearance of the atomic hell which it had given out, mankind may avert the atomic danger, and may yet live. Alas, for Russell, He died without hearing about the prophecy. I was not ready during his lifetime. So also, unfortunately Einstein died without hearing of this miracle of the Quran in the field of nuclear science, his own subject. This prophecy of the Quran about the atomic hell is a miracle of miracles in the field of nuclear science and philosophy of atomism, so that it is not possible, neither for the scientist nor for the philosopher to deny its miraculous aspect. And this is the sole guidance, to lead this world out of the atomic doom. It is first time in modern history that this prophecy has exposed the true reality of the Baconian Philosophy and its Baconian progress and its logical end. This prophecy is like Noah’s Ark in this fiery deluge of atomism. No movement against the atomic danger could be effectively conducted, and no religion could be completely revived or effectively promulgated without adopting the guidelines given by this prophecy. This atomic hell of this world is the replica and representation of the eternal atomic hell that is the Hotama of the next world. The term Hotama has been used by the Quran in this prophecy. The prophecy provides irrefutable proof of the divine original of the Quran. This prophecy has an unfailing efficacy. For instance, Miss Annemarie Shimmel, German Jewish Scholar of some considerable renown, in September 1963, in the Punjab University Lahore, fell on her chair indisposed and confounded, when during her lecture against the divine original of the Quran, I proposed to her this prophecy of the Quran, as an undeniable proof of a divine original. She never returned to this country fourteen years thereafter. And when she came, her topic was not the origin of the Quran, but the works of Iqbal, Khusro, Hazrat Sultan Bahu (RA) and Muslim calligraphy. And now poor Miss Schimmel is left miles behind. Einstein and Russell are required to hear and judge. The Ulema present in the lecture, much pleased, asked about my identity. To which Late Allamah Allauddin Siddiqui, the President of the function, afterwards Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University replied,” This man has been created in this nation by chance by the providence. If this nation failed to receive of him that particular light and understanding of the Quran which Allah has bestowed on his breast, Allah will never forgive this nation on the day of Judgement”. My difficulties are to be judged only by the particular nature of my themes. Just as universal, as complex and as intricate are my difficulties. The bitterness of my subject and its unpleasantness is besides. Just imagine a lonely powerless man standing against the relentless desires of a crowd of four thousand million people, that inhabit this earth, heading in a mad rush towards the atomic hell. As far as the bitterness or unpleasantness of my topic is concerned, I am not to be blamed. I would have offered my fellow humans roses, and that had pleased me but I have said that only which the Quran and the Gospel has said, and that which science has said. Mine office has only been of an interpreter. The name of the Quran itself might create difficulties for me. They who believe in it are involved in their own material difficulties and misunderstandings about the view of the Quran regarding the Baconian Philosophy and Baconian progress. They who do not believe in it, might disregard the key of the future destiny of this mankind, that is in my hand, and all the heaps of acts and discoveries that lay about me like the heaps of diamonds and pearls, inspite of a reputation of the West for the love for research and frankness of heart in the matters of intellectual and philosophical pursuits, which they have. The complexity of my work in a world generally ignorant of nuclear science and Radio-biology form another difficulty. In order to receive a review of my work I might be obliged to travel to the end of this world in quest of a competent judge conversant equally with the subjects of Nuclear Science, Radio-biology, Philosophy, Theology, Quran and the Gospel. If Christ, Moses, Krishan or Buddha had been today, they would have embraced this prophecy of the Quran doing their utmost best in propagating it throughout the world. But there is a race hypnotized by the Baconian magic to blindness and is doomed. Let the Muslims know, that to fail in the publication, of this prophecy of the Quran, and to deprive this world of Allah of the conclusive argument and only light to escape the atomic doom means to close the mouth of a furious volcano, while the natural consequence is a share in the flames of atomic hell with other nations, and a question on the day of judgment before the throne of Allah regarding their failure in the propagation of the light of the Quran in the world. Also that the causes of the appearance of this temporal atomic Hell and punishment in the eternal atomic hell that is Hotama of the next world given out by the Quran, being the same even if this temporal atomic hell is escaped, no possibility exists of escaping the eternal atomic hell that is the Hotama of the next world. No nation alone can do anything in these circumstances, and the only best possibility is to expose the reality of the Baconian progress and its logical end: the atomic hell by publishing this prophecy of the Quran to the world, so that some collective step may be taken to avoid the grievous doom. No better gift from the Islamic World to this mankind may be expected than the publication of this Prophecy of the Quran in the 15th Century Hijra program to win Allah’s pleasure and human gratitude with a possibility of man’s escaping the painful punishment. Nor the Non-Muslims could be absolved from the duty of publishing this prophecy in their own interest and in this interest of mankind in general. ========================== PROPHETIC WARNING OF THE QURAN. QURAN PREDICTS ATOMIC HELL AND PHILOSOPHY OF ATOMISM: A MIRACLE OF THE QURAN ========================== A miracle in the field of atomic science and atomism, a miracle undeniable, and the only irrefutable proof of Quran’s divine original, and the only guidance to escape the atomic doom, indeed, Noah’s Ark in this fiery deluge of atomism, and redeemer of mankind from this temporal atomic hell as well as its original prototype, the eternal atomic hell (Hotama) of the next world…. the causes of both these forms of atomic hell being identical, this 36 word prophecy of the Quran by the Grace of Merciful Allah is my own discovery with my three thousand page explanation of it. Read. The Quran says: “Woe to every backbiter, defamer, who amasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it against the future). He thinketh that his wealth will remain with him for ever. Nay, for, verily he will be cast into Al-Hotama. And what could teach thee what Al-Hotama is? It is the fire of Allah enkindled which leapeth up onto the hearts. It is (a fire) closed in on them in outstretched columns”. (Quran-104- Al-Homaza). Observe now the description of this modern progress of Baconian atomism by the Quran. Quran says, “Backbiter and defamer”. Atomism, both ancient and modern, is a doctrinal slander against divine religion. The spirit of critical rationalism, the distinguishing philosophical standard of this modern Baconian age against every premodern age, being perverted to critical slander, and permeating through every phase of human affair, has rendered this age as the age of calumny with its intellectualized slander named propaganda. This age itself is the age of slander. See slander every where, slander, every-way slander. The Quran says “He amasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it against the future”. Observe this modern, continuous systematic, organized, ever-increasing, infinite and universal process, of wealth accumulation and increase, and its arrangement for future as distinct from the system of every premodern age. The Quran says” He thinketh that his wealth will for ever remain with him”. Observe man’s faith in the eternity of this modern progress. The Quran says, “Nay, for verily he will be flung into Al-Hotama”. Atomic hell as the logical and scientific consequence of this Baconian progress has now appeared. And now observe the distinguishing phenomenal characteristics of atomic phenomenon against every other phenomenon, chemical and electrical in this passage of the Quran. The Quran says”Hotama”. Hotama literally means a crusher, and so is the atomic phenomenon. It crushes basic atomic structure irreparably. It destroys atomic nucleus. In no other phenomenon atomic nucleus is so much as touched. The atomic energy is generated by merely breaking the binding of the atomic nucleus. No other kind of energy is generated in this manner. Atomic radiations follow the suit. They cause nuclear transmutations of atoms in inanimate matter while in living bodies they break cell nucleus chromosomes irreparably. This atomic phenomenon is an absolute, universal crusher. Both the basic building block of the universe that is atom and the basic unit of life that is cell nucleus are absolutely irreparably crushed. All the three manifestations of atomic bomb that is Heat-flash, blast and radiations are crushers. Heat-flash crushes the hearts of exposed persons. The blast crushes structures, while radiations crush atomic nuclei and cell nuclei. The appreciation of the Term BREMSTRAHLUNG by the Physicists as highly descriptive when first coined by the Germans for continuous spectrum of rays implied the realization of the crushing trait of atomic phenomenon by the physicists, for, the term literally meant breaking radiation. To this may be added Rutherford’s surprise recorded in his diary after his famous experiment of bombarding the Gold Foil with Alpha Particles. “It was the most incredible event that ever happened to me in my life. It was as incredible as if you fired a 15 inch shell at a piece of tissue paper and it came back and hit you”, wrote Rutherford. Observe the words like “Bombarding, hitting, smashing, crushing, breaking”.etc. in the standard text books of atomic physics, and mark the phrases like “Target Concept, direct action, indirect action, snapping the cable with a bullet, breaking the chromosomes”, and sentences like “Radiations hit the cell like a sledge hammer and crush them”, in the standard text books of Radio-biology. And in the end mark the phonetic as well as functional identity that exists between the atoma of the scientists and the Hotama of the Quran and wonder. The Quran says “Hotama is fire”. And so also is the atomic phenomenon exclusively a phenomenon of energy, and energy is fire. Atomic bomb also is fire. So also are radiations. Baquerrel, the discoverer of Radioactivity was the first to experience a burn on his skin next to the pocket in which he had carried a phial of Radium. The term cross-fire is used in Radiotherapy. The Quran says “Hotama is fire of Allah”. The atomic hell has appeared as the result of the worldly ungodly philosophy of Baconian atomism and its Baconian progress as retribution. The Quran says, “Hotama is a fire which leaps up on to the hearts”. Atomic phenomenon actually is the nuclear phenomenon, for, the atomic nucleus is involved. This again is a distinguishing feature of the atomic phenomenon, for, no other phenomenon is nuclear. In no other phenomenon nucleus is even touched. Quran’s description of atomic fire that is a fire which leaps up on to the hearts or appears in the hearts is confirmed merely by uttering the word, nuclear, since the nucleus and heart are synonymous, and both the orthodox physicists and standard text books of atomic physics frequently use the word heart for nucleus. Two examples only will suffice:- (1). “Each fast particle comes from the break up of the very Heart of a single atom the nucleus of the radioactive material”. (Vide Physics -Physical Science Study Society Committee -second edition -D.C.Heath and Company Lexinction Massachusetts. July1965 page 130). (2). “How many nuclear heart-beats are in the life-time of a radioactive nucleus which lasts only billionth of a second”. (Ibid page 21, Short Problems). Teller in 1939 spoke of taking energy from the heart of atom. The atomic radiations follow the suit and have their actions in the nuclei of atoms and cells. The most spectacular spectacle of atomic fire’s leaping up over the hearts may be viewed in the thermonuclear device wherein the fire is produced by the inner fission device is being directed onto the nuclei that is the hearts of the outer fusile material. The thermonuclear is the scientific version of the statement of the Quran, namely, a fire which leaps up on to the hearts. Radiations show a discernible preference for the heart and all that is related to the heart in a living body. They affect the coordination of the function at the level where it is beyond the control of the brain. The bone-marrow and all the blood-forming organs are more sensitive to the effect of radiation than the brain, the nerves and the muscles. The blood relation of bone-marrow and blood-forming organs with heart is known. All the multi-cellular organisms are more sensitive to the effect of radiation than all the unicellular organisms. That the former have a more elaborate circulatory and respiratory system than the latter, is well Known also in the blood relation of circulatory and respiratory system with heart. The action of radiation is retarded in the absence of oxygen and the blood-relation of oxygen with heart is known. Lastly the heat-flash of the atomic bomb explosion kills its victim through shock to the heart. The Quran says, “Hotama is a fire closed in on them”. The atomic phenomenon shows peculiar and distinctive characteristic of encompassing. The inverted cauldron like form of the atomic bomb explosion, the continuous series of enclosures of local and global type of radioactive fallout, the relentless tenacity of the bone-seeking radio-active materials settled in the bones, the appearance of cancers six to thirty six years after the actual exposure to radiation, the appearance of the effects in anaphase inspite of the attack of radiation on the cell in the resting state of the cell, the encompassment of the whole body by the radiation even if only one organ of the body is irradiated, the survival of the lethally irradiated frogs from many months instead of dying in the usual time interval that of three to six weeks if kept in a dormant state at a low temperature just above freezing point, and the appearance of radiation symptoms as soon as these irradiated frogs are warmed up, and the occurrence of their death thereafter in the usual time interval that of three to six weeks, Alexander Haddow’s suggestion that the cancer-producing action of the cancer producing substances might be the result of prolonged interference with normal growth, the encompassment by radiation of mankind to generation, even to their extinction through long-term radio-genetic effects, and the encompassment of this earth by radiation in the age of full-fledged atomic-energy-for-peace are some of the facts which indicate the distinct encompassing features of atomic phenomenon. The Quran says, “In outstretched columns”. Besides the symbolically distinctive feature of the outstretched column associated with the atomic bomb explosion, the atomic phenomenon has yet another side of this aspect, namely that the world of radioactivity may be regarded as a world of columns. The 4 cm rise of the Alpha Particle would appear as a formidable column if the size of the particle is seen in comparison to the height it has assumed a football rising in the same ratio to its size would appear in the skies. The cosmic rays present a spectacle of amazing columns in showers, having heights that may cause man’s imagination to reel. The Quran says “What could teach thee What Al-Hotama is?” This mode of interrogation implies terribleness of the phenomenon according to the early commentators of the Quran. To this may be added the extreme complexity of the subject of atomic science. The same question today, namely, “What could teach thee what atomic science is”? Could be put to the leading atomists, and their reply would invariably be, “Nothing”. The Quran has described the nuclear phenomenon, with such accuracy, and has analyzed its characteristics with such precision, and has discerned its distinctive features with so strange a peculiarity that might well come as a surprise to the modern reader, particularly the scientists, and we may well describe a truth without being suspected of resorting to ancient and outmoded style of rhetoric if we say, that the description of the characteristics of the nuclear phenomenon by the Quran, would throw the scientist and the philosopher into ecstatic moods, provided indeed, if the faculty of imagination of these celebrated geniuses have not been completely dulled and dried up, by science, by materialism and by necessity. They will observe with some interest, a fact namely, that, whereas even the fathers of atomic bomb had to depend on practical experimentation in order to gain the knowledge of the characteristics of their invention, the Quran has contained all that knowledge, and something more than that, during these past fourteen centuries since the time when men possessed a knowledge of thermodynamics no more than that which could be derived from a lime kiln or a fire that glowed in their own hearts. The true appreciation of this point could be expected from great atomists of the calibre of Einstein, Fermi, Oppenheimer, Steller and others of note. The Quran contained all this most accurate scientific data about the nuclear phenomenon long before the scientists even had heard the name of the Uranium Fission, nay even the very name of Uranium itself. Let some one approach any of the renowned men of the realm of science and ask him, how much did he know about the various characteristics of the nuclear phenomenon e.g. its heat-flash, its enclosing features, its column raising idiosyncrasy, its radiations and their heart-reaching tendencies, and the global extent of the radiobiological hazard of the fallout before the actual experimentation, of the various processes. The Quran has enumerated and explained all these characteristics of the nuclear phenomenon with such dexterity and clearness that could be the wonder and delight of an atomist. The characterization of the nuclear phenomenon by the Quran are :- (1) It is a fire. (2) It is fire of Allah, enkindled. (3) It leaps up over the hearts. (4) It is fire closed in on them. (5) In outstretched columns (Quran 104, Al- Homaza). ================================ DESCRIPTION OF HOTAMA (ATOMIC HELL) ========================== In this brief, very brief chapter I will not be able to show more than a mere glimpse of all that which I have to show to this world, a world which according to a factual, scientific analysis is surely doomed to a ruin, a universal ruin in the flames of the atomic hell, naturally , justly, deservedly. This world inspite of all the wishful thinking, optimism and ostriching must either vanish suddenly under the hails of atomic weapons, deservedly, or perish slowly, lingeringly, miserably under the swarms of the atomic radiations, also, deservedly. No protection from either the atomic bombs or the atomic radiations is a possibility. No peace treaties will be of ever-lasting avail in an atmosphere of ever-increasing and never abating and universal anarchy till the scientific process of this modern Baconian atomism working in accordance with unfailing and inexorable natural laws has reached its final stage and burst into the flames, all-consuming flames of all atomic hell, atomism via atom to atomic hell. Such a surmise, if it appears so terrible, so pessimistically denunciative, then let it be known, that Late Bertrand Russell too had arrived at the same conclusion in 1964 when he communicated to me a single sentence which read:- “Since Adam and Eve ate the apple, man has never abstained from any folly that he was capable of, and the end is atomic bomb”. Thus to Bertrand Russell this world was doomed to the atomic ruin. I too like Bertrand Russell would have died in disappointment about the end of this mankind. But my discovery of the prophetic warning of the Quran about the atomic hell in the year 1961 rescued me from the similar fate, and thereby I realized that an escape from the atomic ruin was a possibility for this mankind in the light of that warning which was in the Quran, and which was by the sheer Grace of Almighty Allah exposed to me, and is hitherto known to neither a Muslim nor a non-Muslim anywhere in the world. That an antique book fourteen centuries in the past, should treat the subject of atomic science, and scientifically characterize the nuclear phenomenon giving such characteristics of the atomic phenomenon as distinguish it from the rest of the phenomena, chemical, and electrical is something which would come as no mild surprise to the modern atomist and radio-biologist, while the fact that the same book, in the same era and in the same context should characterize the culture of modern Baconian atomism is something which would cast the modern philosopher in reverie. And again, that the same book in the same passage should constitute a link between the atomism and the atomic hell that is the atomic bombs and atomic radiations would leave an Aristotle and a Plato, the two celebrated antagonists of atomism aghast with wonder. The affair is such that serves as an outstanding example to show the difference between the human and divine intellect. The difference which the intellects of the calibre of Einstein, Russell, Aristotle and Plato, would best see, they themselves being some of the most outstanding intellects among the human beings. This prophetic warning of the Quran thus is the only hope in this all-pervading, a universal and ever-increasing darkness in a world which willy-nilly is being dragged towards the brink of the atomic hell to be consumed. It was on 5th May 1980 that I in good faith dispatched an article containing the characterization of atomic phenomenon by the Quran, to fifteen of the leading physicists all over the world for attestation and on promise that in case the characterization was attested as correct, I would declare to the world the name of the book as well as the formula of neutralizing the atomic bombs and atomic radiations as may be formulated from the text of the passage concerned. Following is the list of the names of these celebrities:- 1. Dr. Edward Teller, the well – known maker of the hydrogen bomb. 2. Mr. Gerald Frederick tape, M.Sc., Ph.D. 3. Mr.Wolfgang Kurt Hermann Panofsky, A.B, Ph.D. All the three of America. 4. Sir Denys Haigh Wilkinson, K.T.D.Sc, Ph.D. Sc.D. F.R.S. University of Sussex. 5. Rendel Sabastian Pease, M.A.D.Sc., FRS. 6. Sir Arthur Vick. K.T. OBE, D.Sc. Ph.D.LLD,DCL,F Inst P. FIEE, MRIA, All the three of Great Britain. 7. Statens Karnkraft Inspecktion, stockholm Sweden. 8. International Atomic Energy Karntner, Vienna Austria. 9. Robert Pompe of Germany. 10. Jacques Yvon of France. 11. Nobufusa Saito DSc. 12. Yukawa hideki D.Sc. 13. Sasaki Yoshitake. All the three of Japan. 14. Andrey Dmitriyevick Kakarov of USSR. 15. The Chairman Department of atomic energy Government of India. The response was that Shirely Petty Secretary to Dr.Teller sent back the article that I may be able to send it to someone else, for Dr. Teller was on extended travel and would be traveling most of the rest of the year also. R.S. Pease of England, and Lennart Gillijan of Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate, acknowledged the receipt of my letter. Others assumed reticence. Why? This recalls to my mind the case of Muller. H.J. Muller to whom is due the profound, epoch making discovery of the induction of mutations by ionizing radiation in 1927. It is a curious commentary on our times that Muller’s paper, originally prepared for the “Geneva Conference on the Peaceful Use of atomic energy” (August 1955) could not be presented and discussed at the conference. Why? Because the discovery in question was regarded as detrimental to those who wanted to move on the path of atomic energy with eyes closed against the hazards. The same, though in a far greater degree, could be said of my discovery. My offer, however, still holds good to the entire community of the atomists all over the world. Herein is opened a new and novel vista of research for the scientist and the philosopher with the hope of redemption of this mankind from a most grievous and most painful doom in the flames of the atomic hell. Although it is for the eminent physicists and Radio-biologists to really appreciate the characterization of the atomic phenomenon, yet the measure of complexity is not such that would make the whole thing incomprehensible to a man of average education and understanding. We will now read the entire text of the prophecy which is as follows:- “Woe to every backbiter, defamer, who amasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it (against the future). He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. Nay, for, verily he will be cast into Al-Hotama. And what could teach thee what Al-Hotama is? It is kindled fire of Allah which leapeth up on to the hearts. It is (a fire) closed in on them in outstretched columns” (Quran 104 – Al -Homaza). Now the characteristic features of the atomic phenomenon according to the Quran are: 1. That it is crusher, for the term Hotama literally means a crusher. 2. That it is fire and is fire of Allah. 3. That it is a fire which leaps up on to the hearts. 4. That it is a fire which is closed in on them. 5. That it raises outstretched columns. 6. And that it is a phenomenon too complex and terrible, just as is apparent from the question, what could teach thee what Al-Hotama is? These and exactly these are the characteristics of the nuclear phenomenon, and are the characteristics which distinguish the nuclear phenomenon from all the rest of the phenomena, chemical, and electrical. We have now to show in the light of atomic science that these are exactly the characteristics of the atomic phenomenon. The Quran has said:- “Al-Hotama. And what could teach thee what Al-Hotama is? It is fire of Allah enkindled which leaps up on to the hearts. It is (a fire) closed in on them in outstretched columns”. We will treat these points one by one, believing that those among you who do not know atomic science will also be able to follow the theme. The validity of the facts of atomic science included could be confirmed by the atomist as well as the text books of atomic science. 1. The Quran says “Hotama”. Hotama is a pure Arabic word derived from the root-verb Hatama, which means “to break something into pieces” or “to shatter it”. Hotama is a descriptive noun and means “a breaker or crusher”. That the Quran should call a fire by the name of breaker would at once call to the mind of the scientist the German term ‘BREMSSTRAHLUNG” which literally meant “breaking radiation” and was applauded as highly descriptive by the atomists when first coined by the German for continuous spectrum of rays. Not only this, but it has to be observed that the characteristics of breaking or crushing is one of these particular characteristics of the atomic phenomenon which distinguish it from all the rest of the phenomena, chemical, and electrical. Mark the atomic energy appearing by breaking the binding of the atomic nucleus. Atomic and only the atomic energy is generated in this manner and none other. Not only this, but further, the atomic phenomenon may be regarded as the absolute crusher, since its breaking and crushing is of an absolute nature. Atoms once crushed could not be reconstructed by a method of synthesis. Nucleus once disintegrated could not be rearranged in its original form by any means or methods. So completely absolute is the crushing involved in the atomic actions and reactions that the destruction of both the basic building block of the universe, that is atom, and basic unit of life, that is the cell is involved. This again is a characteristic which distinguishes the atomic phenomenon from all the rest. Not only this, but further the atomic radiations that are inherent in the very nature of the atomic phenomenon, show the identical trait of breaking and crushing. In inanimate matter they break the atomic nuclei and cause transmutations of atoms by changing the form of the nuclei. In living bodies, they attack the cell nucleus and break the chromosomes thereof. The heat flash of the atomic bomb explosion falls with a crushing impact like lightening on the body and kills the heart of its victim with the shock. The blast of the atomic bomb is terrible crusher of structures, while the radiations of the atomic bomb explosion carry out the process of crushing in the usual way. The first two features may be observed in the conventional bombs also. But what is the crushing wrought by the conventional bombs to that wrought by the atomic bomb. This trait, that of breaking and crushing on the part of atomic phenomenon may be observed with conspicuity in all the standard text books of atomic physics that may be found replete with terms like” bombarding, crushing, smashing, hitting, breaking” etc. in the description of the actions and reactions of atomic phenomenon. Likewise the standard text books of Radio- biology may be found replete with phrases like ” Target concept, direct action, indirect action, snapping the cable with a bullet, breaking the chromosomes,” and sentences like” radiations hit the cells like sledge hammer and crush them”, while describing the actions and reactions of radiations to this may be added the words of Rutherford that expressed his astonishment at the crushing trait of the atomic particles. After his famous experiment in which he had bombarded the gold foil with alpha particles, he wrote in his diary, ” It was as incredible as if you fir

Chapter-III The terrific warning of Moses to the people of Israel involves the eternal Human race in this Modern age. FOREWORD This world today does not only stand helplessly obliged to adopt the atomic-energy-for-peace in order to carry on the progress programme, but unfortunately the world at large is completely ignorant of the horrific effects and the dreadful consequences of the atomic-energy-for-peace. Few in this world know the reality, while the pressure of the circumstances is immense. The world is entangled in the modern economico-industrial set up crying for the necessities of the life. Both the scientist and statesman are forced to provide the material needs and necessities of their communities, and no doubt to speak against the atomic energy is something very unpleasant. Yet the truth has to be told and the reality has to be exposed. The facilities of atomic energy and the pressure of the present necessities have to be weighed against the consequences which are certainly terrific. No doubt there is none at present to speak bluntly against the atomic-energy-for-peace, and most of the people still think the use of atomic-energy-for-peaceful purposes as a possibility, but a mankind which does not have a single person in the world to voice the reality, such a mankind forfeits the privilege of peace, prosperity and existence. Therefore, come what may, allow me to expose the reality and voice the truth in the form of a warning that perhaps this mankind may yet live and even attain to real peace and real prosperity. There is nothing of a whimsical nature in my writings. Rather the facts of science and logic speak. He who has read the other volume, namely, “The Quran Predicts, Characterizes and averts the atomic hell”, will find no difficulties in judging the contents of this volume, despite all the bitterness existing therein, for howsoever bitter may these facts be, yet they are never more bitter than to be broiled in the flames of the fire of atomic bombs, and suffer from the painful cancers in chimerical forms in a world of suffering and misery rightly to be called by the name of atomic hell. This villain of mine comes under the prediction; there’s son against father: the King falls from bias of nature; there is father against child. We have seen the best of our time; machinations, hollowness, treachery, and all ruinous disorders, follow as disquitely to our graves”. (Gloucester in Shakespeare’s “King Lear”) “Unnaturalness between the child and the parent; death, dearth, dissolution of ancient amities; divisions in State, menaces and maledictions against King and nobles; needless differences, banishment of friends, dissipation of cohorts, nuptial breaches, and I know not what”. (Edmund in Shakespeare’s “King Lear”) But who will describe the afflictions of a cancer-ridden, radiation-sick and most miserable mankind of chimeras in the age of atomic energy. The number and the degree of miseries therein would simply leave every Shakespeare dumb struck with astonishment. “WOE TO EVERY BACKBITER, DEFAMER, WHO AMASSETH WEALTH (OF THIS WORLD) AND ARRANGETH (IT AGAINST THE FUTURE). HE THINKETH SURELY THAT HIS WEALTH SHALL RENDER HIM IMMORTAL. NAY, FOR, VERILY HE SHALL BE CAST INTO ALHOTAMA. AND WHAT SHALL TEACH THEE WHAT AL-HOTAMA IS? IT IS ALLAH’S KINDLED FIRE. WHICH RISES UNTO THE HEARTS. IT IS (A FIRE) CLOSED IN ON THEM IN OUTSTRETCHED COLUMNS”. (QURAN CHAPTER-104-AL-HOMAZA) “I have yet many things to say unto you, but, ye cannot bear them now, Howbeit, when he, the spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will show you things to come”. (The Bible-St. John XVI-12-13) Sir James Jeans complained:- “A hundred years ago, when scientists were trying to interpret the world mechanically, no wise man came forward to assure them that the mechanical view was bound to prove a misfit in the end……………….that the phenomenal universe would never make sense until it was projected on to a screen of pure mathematics: had they brought forward a convincing argument to this effect, science might have been saved much fruitless labour. If the philosopher now says “what you have found is nothing new; I could have told you that it must be so all the time, the scientist may reasonably inquire ….why then you did not tell us so, when we should have found the information of real value”. (The Mysterious Universe -1930, page 117) The complaint of Sir James Jeans might be justifiable from the scientist’s point of view, but alas. What human mind, howsoever, great could have advanced a convincing argument in so very complex a matter. If, however, it be supposed for a moment that some philosopher had brought forth a very convincing argument in this respect, is it essential that the scientists would have accepted any argument without a substantial scientific proof thereof. But now that the Holy Quran has brought forth the most convincing proof in the nick of time, and indeed a proof based not on mere philosophy but also based on the hard and fast facts of pure science in a most convincing manner, will then the scientists readily take up the advice that happens to be in the present circumstances as the only ray of hope, the only line of guidance, and the only way to save this mankind from sure destruction. How grievously the loss of the death of a scientist of the caliber of sir James Jeans could be felt at present, and how earnestly it could have been wished that Sir James Jeans were alive today, that this warning of the Quran could have been presented to his view. It is, he, indeed that could have been expected to appreciate the miracle of the Quran and take the advice to his heart. Yet there is still no dearth of good scientists in the world and many of them shall be found capable enough and just enough to weigh, judge and realize the true worth of the warning of the Quran and take it to their heart and act accordingly that perhaps this world may yet be saved from the greatest disaster and the worst doom that no power on earth can avert from the mankind, and there is no other way out of this difficulty except by following the advice of the prophecy of Quran about he atomic hell earnestly, sincerely and practically to the letter and forth-with. Let the scientists read the following warning of the Quran and think over it in the light of the explanations given in this work under study:- “WOE TO EVERY BACKBITER, DEFAMER, WHO AMASSETH WEALTH (OF THIS WORLD) AND ARRANGETH (IT AGAINST THE FUTURE). (QURAN CHAPTER-104-AL-HOMAZA) The scientist is expected to subject the most crucial topic of all times, namely that of the atomic-energy-for-peace to a cool deliberate view, and to lavish on this most critical of all matters the care which is due to it, leaving out of his mind every other consideration except that of the safety of the mankind. The Quran has now left no occasion for the scientist to complain that no convincing argument was brought forward to warn against the hazards of the atomic energy, or to reveal its true nature. Let every consideration of the economic necessity be cast aside while considering the case of the atomic energy, and let the matter be judged from purely the scientific point of view. Let not this mankind be caused to drink poison simply because this kind of poison contains some exceptional nourishing quality besides. By some, the objection might be raised perhaps not without some apparent reason, that why this warning of the Quran was not disclosed before mankind had entered the nuclear field, and that it is only after the actual explosion of the atomic bomb that some one has been prompted to raise the hue and cry, at first glance at least the objection may appear to carry some weight, but only before our treatment of the subject in this work has been duly subjected to the study. There cannot be a dispute about the fact that the prophecy has existed in the Quran as it is, since the revelation fourteen centuries ago. Further, if the treatment of the subject has been found convincing, the objection remains only that the prophecy has not been disclosed at a time well in advance and before the entry of the scientists into the nuclear field or even before that. The objection thus is restricted to the interpreters of the Quran for not disclosing the purport of the prophecy and not portraying Al-Hotama in the light of its description by the Quran, and not anticipating the atomic hell within this very world. But are the interpreters of the Quran to be blamed for it? Perhaps not. No one could be blamed for it. The subject of the atomic energy and the atomic bomb has been such as did allow little anticipation. It is to be wondered whether any of the atomists such as Einstein, Chadwick, Rutherford, Fermi, and indeed all the great atomists that were engaged in the discovery of the atomic energy or the construction of the atomic bomb, could have been able at any stage of the development of the subject before the actual explosion of the atomic bomb to realize the real purport of the prophecy in connection with the atomic energy and the atomic bomb due to the exceeding ambiguousness and the haphazard nature of the curse of development, and the extreme minuteness and intricacy of the subject. The exact realization of the purport of the prophecy could only be had in the presence of the site of the atomic bomb explosion. Not even that, still clearer realization of the purport could only come after the explosion of the hydrogen bomb for the appearance of the fact of the global fallout, nay, not even that, for, the realization of the true purport of the prophecy will never cease to assume further clarity. The endless advancement of the object will endlessly provide the facts that will endless keep imparting further clarity to the subject of the prophecy. All the atomists who had a share in discovery and the development of the atomic energy were presumably one and all ignorant of this prophecy of the Quran, and whether their ignorance in this particular is a factor that deserves lamentation or not, is a matter of conjecture only. If lamentable, we are not certain of the extent of lamentation. we say this because the particular time in which these atomists existed and made their exertions in the field of nuclear science, the three evils responsible for the emergence of the atomic bomb had assumed such proportions as might have easily blinded the sight of the atomists rendering them unable to discern the real purport of the prophecy. Such spiritual mysteries could only be revealed to such minds as are clear of the smoke of the worldly greed. There exists a lower strata in the Muslim society that might astonish you by their assertion that the Europeans have learned how to make the atomic bomb from the Quran itself. Leaving aside the question of the descriptive part of the prophecy viz., the description of Al-Hotama, the part containing the causes that were responsible for the emergence of Al-Hotama had been crystal clear from the very outset. The evidence of these causes could have annulled the possibility of the emergence of the atomic hell without in any way obliging this mankind to bother about the descriptive part containing the description of Al-Hotama. Thus the nature of the Al-Hotama would have remained for ever secret. There is still a chance, however, for this mankind to avail the warning of the Quran and be saved. The margin, though, is narrow and the loss done by the fire of atomic hell irreparable and irreversible, once done for ever done. My labour in this topic has only been to sow wonder and reap lamentation at the unscientific and inconstant behaviours of the scientist concerning the atomic-energy-for-peace. All the information to be found herein regarding the atomic energy belongs to the scientist himself. Mine effort is confined only to the arrangement of the material and the presentation of the facts thereof, and drawing the inferences therefrom, and to prove that the atomic-energy-for-peace is a misnomer, a contradiction in terms and a curse despite the reticence or the recommendation of the scientist. In the matter of atomic energy the atomic energy appears from the established facts to throw this world eventually into a dark boiling sea of misery, with every possibility of plunging this world into a catastrophic atomic war even before the atomic-energy-for-peace has ultimately manifested its ill-effects and has covered this world with invisible rain of burning radiations, for the atomic energy is a single root from which both the branches, that of the atomic energy-fore-peace and for war spring simultaneously; and to cut one of these branches and leave the other might not be possible except by ostriching. To rule out the danger of atomic war in the presence of atomic-energy-for-peace seems a proposition which hovers on the brink of improbability. The prevailing circumstances in this respect due to the confusion and ignorance of mankind regarding the subject of atomic energy, and due indeed to the extreme necessity of energy are forbidding, but conscience would not allow reticence in this gravest of all matters. A world falling into a covered ditch of fire is a scene fearful enough to expel every consideration from man’s mind and cause a try of terror to be emitted at so dreadful a spectacle. A cry howsoever feeble, howsoever faint, amidst a raging storm, yet the cry has to be emitted. It is instinctly emitted and would admit no curbs. A very little margin is now left before mankind to fell into this hideous ditch. Once fallen there is no way out of it. It is simply abysmal. By the time the generality of mankind have gained the necessary knowledge of the subject of atomic energy, or the effects of atomic radiation have begun to appear, the die shall have been cast and the destinies spun eternally. That day the scientist shall be the most despised, most contemptible and most hated creature on earth, regarded as the worst enemy of humanity by humanity, and a character far worse than simply that of one in league with devil which once in the course of history he was generally called. His past services will by then been drowned in general misery. He may well be reminded that his attitudes regard as the atomic-energy-for-peace, if he recommends it, is at present most unscientific. His own established facts in this respect negate his attitude, and his hopes in future protective discoveries in the field of atomic energy are most illusive and may not be materialized either at all or in time. To push over therefore this mankind in the atomic hell in the hope of one day finding protection against the radiations, and cure for radiation sickness is just like causing someone to drink deadly portion in the hope of discovering someday some effective antidote. There could not be a wrong greater ever done to mankind .Who more than the scientist himself knows the tricky, sub-atomic and beyond man’s reach, nature of the subject of atomic energy. What expectations then he has in this respect in near future. It is the most friendly, most timely and most sincere counsel to those scientists who today counsel that the adoption of atomic-energy-for-peace in the present state of the subject is safe. If the scientists shun the possibility of one day being called the ugly monsters who dragged the world into the atomic hell, and being sought as the cruel murderers not only of mankind but all life on earth by the misery-ridden mankind in the atomic age, then let them pause and ponder over the problem. And if they find a shred of truth in our warning then let them not grudge condescension to a suppliant in the name of humanity. If, however, they will defy the warning, then men have in the past defied the warnings and have met their doom. There happens to be nothing new in it. But the misfortune is that the doom of whole mankind is mingled with that of the scientist and the fate of this world now is staked on his serenity. The situation demands moral courage and fortitude on the part of him on whose head lies at present the responsibility of the entire world. If he defies this warning he simply defies it by defying the basic tenets and the express dictates of science itself whose mouthpiece and spokesman he happens to be in the world today. There might, however, be no dearth as yet of men sensible enough in the world to comprehend the meanings of this warning, and spirited enough to raise their voice according to the dictates of their conscience against the ruinous step blindly taken towards the hell, and influential enough to make their voice heard in a world that still has a margin of escape. Reticence at this moment is criminal and devastating. Let men demand universal and complete protection against the inherent radiations of the atomic-energy-for-peace first and allow the adoption thereof only after the satisfactory safeguards have been made available. The venture can certainly and indeed easily be postponed at this stage. Let the fiery monster be unlashed on this world only after the world has been provided with means of protection against its fiery, poisonous breath. This is going to be most scientific. If, however, the atomic-energy-for-peace is adopted before the necessary safeguards are available then no doubt this present generation may or may not experience the ill-effects and may enjoy only the benefits thereof, but gradually the advantages of the atomic energy will be out shadowed and will ultimately be swallowed by the disadvantages, and harms only will remain as the lot of the mankind. Who could object to the atomic energy potential in these days of such necessity but who more than the scientist himself knows the sub-atomic, and delusive nature of atomic energy and the difficulty of finding any protection against or control over the atomic radiations that are inherent in the very nature of the atomic energy. Will not then the scientist pause to think and meditate on the point, the gravest point on which the destiny of the whole future humanity depended. Up on your feet. The time for dilly-dally is already up. And pray look for no exaggerations, mis-statements, alarmist views, or departures from the established facts which you have so very kindly furnished as the result of your most accurate researches. Covering merely the sources of atomic energy is not enough. Men individually all over the world are to be provided with means of protection against vagrant radiations, if mankind’s life and health is valued. ATOMIC ENERGY-FOR-PEACE :- The term Hotama does not exclusively mean the atomic bomb explosion, but rather implies the atomic hell to embrace in a general manner the entire phenomenon of atomic energy as distinct from the chemical energy. The outstretched columns that are given by the prophecy as one of the characteristic features of the fire of Al-Hotama are present also in the case of radiations as we have in a previous volume shown in sufficient detail. Remember that we are now going to harbour on a topic on which the existence and welfare of the entire humanity depends. A topic indeed far more grievous and far more painful than any topic that ever was discussed in the whole human history. A topic most misunderstood by the elite and utterly unknown to the generality of mankind in this age of knowledge and science, and one most susceptible of a world-wide controversy of a most disconcerting nature for diverse reasons. A serious controversy in which our adverse view may figure as most dismal in the eyes of a world having great expectations in a particular source of energy. Let this, however, be frankly confessed that but for he inevitable exigency and unavoidable significance of this most excruciating of all the most unpleasant topic, a topic so very dismal, and so very torturous, we certainly could have avoided it without exciting so much as an inaudible whisper of suspicion anywhere, but the stings of conscience are too severe to allow reticence on so grievous a topic and the sense of duty is too impelling to admit of a plea of connivance. Truth must be told and told in its entirety irrespective of consequences. But let the tragedy now be staged. Tragedy is not essentially conflict between good and evil, nay rather the real tragedy happens when good comes in conflict with good. Here is an admonition of a well meaning friend and no ill-will whatsoever is meant. No doubt those who recommend the use of atomic-energy-for-peace do not do so on any motive of dishonesty or selfishness, but rather they honestly believe in what they say. But alas the circumstances of the world these days are too stringent and the devil to dupe this present age is strangely clever and deceitfully mischievous. He will not allow them to see the things as they actually are but will always cause bad things to appear good in their eyes. The world it seems is blindly determined to adopt the atomic-energy-for-peace. Hazard or not hazard. Judging from the peculiarity of the topic, we have instead of basing our adverse opinion on the authority of the scripture, called in the science itself to condemn it. The science as it will be seen has condemned the topic out-right and without any reservations. It is only the attitude of the scientists in this respect that having been rendered most unscientific has come to make all the great difference. The scientists have in this respect so incredibly missed the particular attitude of science that the revelation of the facts may indeed come as a surprise to many even of the leading scientists all over the world, but facts even more glaring, more formidable in nature are missed by human beings. Death is one such example. Nothing is more certain than death, yet nothing is ever more neglected by men than the remembrance of death. It is a possibility, however, that many a scientist well grounded in science may awake from his stupor regarding the hazards of atomic energy and may wonder, how all these facts which he had actually known, had so long lain dormant in his mind. Ideas may be revived in the minds of the scientists like apparitions, and conscience might smite their previous view about the atomic energy. If, however, on the other hand they remained adamant in their views despite the weight of their own proofs to the contrary, then what could be said except that the hypnotic influence of doom, and the power of the worldly love is so overwhelmingly great, that not even the irrefutable proofs of science have been of any avail to convince them of the truth, or warn them against the incident hazards. The whole mankind is adamant in their determination to adopt the atomic energy, and not a voice is anywhere to be heard against the venture. Every one is loudest in condemning the atomic bomb, but every one is earnestly desiring the atomic-energy-for-peace. Every diary of the scientist is replete with the hazards of atomic radiations, but few of the scientists say any thing against the atomic-energy-for-peace, as if radiations have been segregated from the atomic energy or have been subjected to a control. Every Government is busily engaged in procuring and installing atomic reactors, as if there were no hazards incident on the adoption of the atomic energy. Imagination of the men of this materialistic age is miserably confined to the material necessities of life and every other consideration has been expelled from a mind completely darkened by the fumes of material pursuits. The whole philosophy of the modern age has been rolled into the stomach, while the heart is abandoned to the desire of the world. The scientist of today seems to have been completely deprived of the faculty of imagination, so much so that he fails completely to picture the radiation situation of a future world with full-fledged atomic energy and recommends the use of the atomic-energy-for-peace as if the radiation situation of the world will for ever remain as it is today when a very few atomic reactors are functioning throughout the world. His philosophical insight seems to have been impaired to an extent that he is completely failing to draw logical inferences and make logical conclusions in the light of the social, mental and economic state of the world circumstances and the particular tendencies of the present mankind. It is painful to observe that the scientist has been rendered a mere mechanical instrument of discovery, a mere tool of scientific invention. The medieval Al-Chemist sought but the transmutation of the baser metals into gold, and the discovery of an elixir that could prolong life to immortality. It pains to think that the modern scientist too would go the some way. The medieval Al-Chemist, however, was a mere obscure individual, while the modern scientist holds a sway over the thought of mankind universally, and is a central figure in the affairs of world. I am not unaware of the possible charge of the sincere and simple scientist, against me for my combination for the atomic-energy-for-peace, viz., that in my denial of the constructive side of the atomic energy I have been guilty of denying the basic methodology of science, to wit, that I have denied the rule that the discoveries of science could be put to use both for constructive and destructive purpose. Before I attempt to answer this charge, allow me to say in the clearest of terms that on the contrary my charge against the scientist is that he in recommending the use of atomic-energy-for-peace before discovering any means of universal protection and a sure cure for radiation injury is guilty of gross neglect of the most basic and most fundamental rule of the methodology of science. A needy world coerced by pressing needs may rush at the enterprise of adopting the atomic-energy-for-peace unmindful of every associated hazard so much so that it may not only not pay any attention to the warnings of the scientists but may even coerce the unwilling scientists into submission and exact from them their guidance and cooperation, yet the permission of the atomic-energy-for-peace at so dangerously a nascent stage of the subject, and the offer of a hearty cooperation in the field on the part of the scientist is a blemish that no excuse whatsoever could clear in the sight of science. And now coming to the charge that of the denial of the basic methodology of science by denying the use of atomic-energy-for-peace, let it be observed that the atomic energy whether for war of for peace is a unique exception to the rules of the basic methodology of science. It obeys no rules. It defies man’s control. Its preliminary advantages are mere bait and it is the surest means of the ultimate destruction of life on earth. Control is the basic condition of subjecting any scientific discovery to man’s service. Not one discovery of science could have been harnessed to man’s service without its first leading to the control of man. If fire for instance had perpetually defied the control of man it could never have been subjected to service. The dread of fire entertained by the primitive man and the subsequent success in controlling it is generally cited as the example. But does the case of atomic radiation bear analogy with that of fire? Does no difference exist in this respect, that of control and protection etc., between the chemical and nuclear energy? Surely the two are miles apart in this and in every other original and consequential aspect. And these are no hidden secrets that we now reveal. The failure of the scientist in grasping this formidable truth, and indeed the reason of this whole behaviour in this particular is due merely to his failure in recognizing the fact, that of the exceptional nature of the atomic energy in the realm of science, the fact which has been clouded in his sight due to his hopes in future discoveries of protective and curative measures in the field of radiation, and strangely enough all these hopes are being entertained by the scientist inspite of his knowledge of the clearly discernible probabilities of all such hopes being proved as false and misleading ultimately to irrevocable disaster of mankind. Atomic reactors may indeed be covered materially against radiation as a sure means of protection against radiation, but who will ever think of covering every individual of the entire mankind against the vagrancy of radiations in a future age of all-pervading and universal redundancy of atomic energy, the inevitable source of radiations. And who will guard the whole mankind against large-population-genetic-hazards of atomic radiations, hazards inheritable, cumulative and multiplicative in a world exposed to the insidious effects of ever-vagrant radiations, the most relevant and one of great significance is the question, how far the scientist has hitherto succeeded in procuring the universal protective and curative means and methods in the field of radiations, and how far his hopes in acquiring the same in future can find justification judging form the recognizedly formidable and in all probability insurmountable difficulties and obstacles presented by the subject due to its unusual complexities and the unusual helplessness of man in the field. And is it ever considered by those responsible for the advancement of atomic energy and the safety of the people, that in case some discoveries of protective and curative means were even possibly made at some later stage in the development of atomic energy, might it not be that atomic radiations had by then made such insidious and irreparable damage to mankind that the case was past cure. The damage would thereafter secretly multiply to manifest itself one day to great chagrin and real loss of mankind. This, however, is the greatest possibility, while the case of making the discoveries of any protective or curative means regarding radiations is a dubious probability. Would the permission of the adoption of the atomic-energy-for-peace show some plausibility if such were the conditions? Optimism is a favourable attitude and is characteristic of any one engaged in a research of any kind. But here is an exception to this rule. Optimism in the case of atomic energy in reference to radiation falls into the category of fatalism. To allow the use of a thing like atomic energy in the hope of someday finding the protective and curative means to ward off the peculiar and particular hazards of atomic energy is to mistake fatalism for optimism in complete forgetfulness of the unique hazards of radiation. What way is there to account for the genetic hazards of radiation. What if all the hopes of the scientists respecting the discovery of protective and curative means prove false, or even if in case they come, they come too late and after the radio-die of mankind has been cast and man’s nuclear destiny has been spun. The most reasonable conduct of the scientist in the existing circumstances ought, instead of a vaguely venture-some and dimly hopeful attitude to have been to declare to the world in most explicit and clear-cut manner, “Brethren, we find ourselves in a unique situation and we consider it our sacred duty to declare to you, that we have not been able hitherto to discover either any means of universal protection against atomic radiation, nor have we found as yet any sure cure for radiation injury. Nor yet is any in sight. Judging from the complexity and extreme difficulty of the subject we can give no hopes of any kind. We therefore regret to tell you that in the circumstances such as these we cannot recommend or permit the use of the atomic energy in any way, to wit, neither for war nor even for peace, since the hazards of the venture are great, so much so that the advantages accrued from the enterprise cannot be even imagined to atone for the damages that might surely be incurred by mankind in due course. We will, however, keep up our struggle in the field, and will never flinch from our duty and will grudge no sacrifice, in our utmost endeavour to discover some means of protection against radiation, and some sure cure for radiation injuries, if, however, someone is adamant, and would take up the course of atomic energy inspite of our warnings, we cannot stop him from doing so but let him expect no cooperation from our side”. And indeed, there would have been nothing new in a statement of this kind. Einstein and most of the leading scientists of America have had issued similar statements. And were Einstein alive today, I am assured in my mind that he could have most graciously condescend to endorse a statement like the one, that is quoted above. In our treatment of the subject in this chapter, reader will find a sufficient reason for surprise in the fact that all the inevitability of the hazards of atomic radiations has been shown by the scientist himself as the result of his scientific inquiry and experimentation. Discovery after discovery in an established form appears to scientifically establish the ruinous aspects and the disastrous consequences of the atomic energy, and thus saves us from resorting to any maledictory kind of utterances that perhaps might have proved of negligible effect. Ascertained facts and established theories of science in this context to most unambiguously prove our adverse opinion about the atomic energy. Leaving the matter therefore entirely to the scientist himself we will resort to a sad reverie in order to judge the effects of this discussion on mankind in general and more than that on the scientist himself. It is a painful matter to deprive mankind of means of potential energy, but the dangers of such a potential being unproportionally great, the truth has to be told anyhow. To adopt atomic energy is just like sowing fiery winds only, with expectations of reaping fiery whirlwinds. They have sowed atomic energy and they already have reaped atomic bombs. They will sow atomic-energy-for-peace and they will reap complete annihilation of life on earth due to the atomic radiation in a process of slow, systematic decay. No scientist of average understanding will upon some reflection miss the point that the difference between the devastation brought about by the commencement of atomic warfare and the adoption of atomic-energy-for-peace, excepting indeed the blast, ultimately differs in terms only, that is, the short-term and the long-term. The atomic bomb brings about the prompt disintegration of life and property, while the atomic reactor works the destruction slowly, systematically and indefinitely. Scriptural warnings and philosophical reasoning could in this age be ignored, but that the scientific facts be neglected in this age is no doubt surprising. That the men of this age play the deaf, the dumb and the blind to the warnings of science itself, could only be attributed to the impelling influence of the three evils, namely slander, wealth-accumulation and wealth worship. The history has come to repeat itself. The Delilah of science has discovered the secret of the strength of the atomic Samson. The modern materialist philistines have captured it. They have employed him as a slave and have commanded him to show feats of his unusual strength. No doubt in the end he will show them yet another fact of his formidable strength on his own accord, and will in this bring the whole roof of their amphitheater down upon theirs and upon his own head to their and his own utter ruin. Mankind, atomic energy, science, and indeed the entire creation on earth shall disappear due only to one little misunderstanding of the scientist regarding the atomic energy in that he failed to recognize its exceptional position in the field of science, ignoring the fact that the atomic bomb was the legal offspring of the illegal dam the atomic energy that would dam the world. The basic rule of the methodology of science could perhaps have been applied to atomic energy, but all the difference has been made by the presence of the atomic radiations, that are inherent in the very nature of the atomic energy and cannot be separated, or segregated, and makes the universal control impossible. The atomic bomb too could perhaps have been tolerated by mankind as a little too powerful a destroyer of life and property if the factor of the atomic radiation were not there. The successful detonation of the Hydrogen bomb could have been hailed by the belligerent nations as great triumph, but the factor of the global and hence most dangerous kind of the radiological hazard in the form of fallout spoiled all the expected joy of the spirit of bellicosity. Real satisfaction is to be found in the fact that perhaps this present generation will pass away after enjoying the full advantages of atomic energy leaving all the consequent miseries, cancer, leprosy, chimerism, impotency and haemorrhages for the future generations with whom they can have no sympathies in the present gratification of present lust. They who may soon develop the symptoms of cannibalism, they who now show signs of cannibalistic tendencies to fall on each other and tear the flesh and eat it up, what regard they may be expected to have for their future generations which even have not appeared as yet and are behind the curtain of futurity. Yes indeed. The much dreaded cannibalists could not have been worse. The energy-hungry mankind must know that the atomic energy could have been used as energy provided there were no radiations, or provided radiations could have been controlled. There is yet another factor which deserves serious consideration. The mere existence of atomic energy in the world constitutes a perpetual threat in that it is the source of the atomic bomb. Despite all the assurances to the contrary the possibility of atomic war in the presence of atomic energy cannot be excluded. At present the atomic bomb is hated and dreaded but in future when mankind will be groaning under the miseries of life brought about by the presence of the atomic radiations, they may hail the atomic bomb as their saviour and redeemer. Far graver indeed is yet another aspect, the one that is hidden from the denizens of this materialistic age, viz. that of the eternal life in heaven. It has to be remembered that the very same causes that have produced the atomic bomb in this world are given out by the prophecy of the Quran as responsible for the punishment in Al-Hotama, to mean that they who have been rendered liable to the punishment of atomic bomb in this transient world are also liable to the punishment of Al-Hotama in the next eternal world. O how grievous a consideration and how grievous a punishment. Here in this transient world there is at least some consolation in the thought that death ultimately would relieve from the torture, but what hope is there to relieve anyone from the torture of the next eternal world. There the torture of Al-Hotama shall be for-ever, endlessly to the eternity. If the word of a scripture has been proved in this world, why then it should fail in the next world. A solitary voice in the thundering storm of the tyrannical necessities of life may have a meager chance of being heard by a preoccupied mankind but the consequences of missing this voice may certainly be dire. Whatever the situation, the warning ought to be sounded, lest they say, we were not told, we might perhaps have been saved. The conniving scientist, the zealous politician, the enthusiastic industrialist and indeed all the craving mankind will be sobered at the first glimpse of that terror which is atom bomb. The atomic-energy-for-peace, however, may take time to reveal its truth to the world. The dreadful doom shall inevitably come with a double misery for the scientist, but until the basic causes of the trouble are considered, the ears and the eyes shall remain sealed, and until the basic causes are removed, the threat of the atomic devastation will lurk about the world. A revolution of thought indeed as great, and as dynamic, and as universal as the prevailing set up of atomism in the world is required to avert the atomic doom. Providence has the power to change the hearts, though all the necessary knowledge is there. All the necessary knowledge is indeed there. It is known that the atomic bomb is not a weapon of war but a means of complete annihilation of life on earth. It is known that there is no universal protection for mankind against radiation, nor is there any sure cure for the injuries caused by it. It is known that the genetic effects of radiation are irreversible and irreparable, and that the recessive genes are inheritable, cumulative and multiplicative. And it is well known that the effects of radiation will in the end change the entire human race and the whole mammalian world and the complete plant world into chimeras till they become extinct, and it is also kwon that nothing would be done to stop the effects of radiation. And much more is known with utmost certainty. If all this be true and it is no mere fantasy, what plausibility is there to adopt the atomic-energy-for-peace? But will anyone hear? To what else such an attitude could be attributed except the hypnotic influence of a dreadful doom. The example of the scientists who base their permission of the atomic-energy-for-peace on their hope in finding someday the protective and curative measures against the effects of radiations is that of the doctor who knowing that there existed no antidote for a certain poison would cause his patient to swallow the poison in the hope of anyhow finding some antidote. The case of radiations is even more serious than that of any poison, since poison affects the present person while radiations affect even future generations like a multiplicative epidemic. Which of the sides of the attitude of the scientists we then have to believe? His frightful descriptions of the hazards of the atomic radiations and his confessions of human helplessness against the effects of radiations or his recommendations of atomic energy based on his assurances of the innocuity of atomic energy-for-peace. Does this labeling of atomic energy with peace anyway change its inherent nature, or neutralizes in any way its noxious effects. Our surmise is that the atomic energy and peace are contradiction in terms. Is then this our surmise wrong, misjudged, exaggerated? The delusions of the politician and the industrialists will eventually be broken. The atomic stockpiles ultimately will fail to prove a perpetual deterrent against the aggression. As far as the atomic-energy-for-peace is concerned, no doubt, the eventual harm will swallow up the preliminary advantages. The invisible bane of radiations will gradually impair the health of the general public to the degree that not the workshops, fields and factories, but hospitals, sick houses and asylums will be the usual haunts of the people. Investments will sink, and sink indeed will the general health of the people with resulting bankruptcy everywhere. Banks, financiers, Governments will one and all turn bankrupt in the real sense of the word. On the whole it will be a sick world. The bait of temptation which had in the beginning been found in the great energy potential would long since have been disappeared in the consequent miseries. The present generation shall have a bite at the bait but some future generation shall find itself helplessly fallen into a trap of hellish miseries. The atomic energy offers two alternatives and two only, namely, a sudden instantaneous destruction through atomic bombs, or a systematic decay or a systematic decay of life through atomic-energy-for-peace after a miserable spell of indefinite existence on earth. Any amount of radiation and any dose rate is decisively deleterious to health and life. Protection against radiation can only be secured by covering completely materially the actual source of atomic energy. Even this extreme protection is not hundred percent fool-proof, and always the possibility of occasional leakage of radiation remains to hazard the health and life through radiation injury, irreversible and irreparable in case of the genetic damage. The danger of a reactor occasionally running out of control, or even exploding with the resultant inundation of the whole neighbouring district with radiations playing a havoc with the health and life of the unprotected people in terrific holocaust, causing radiation sickness and mutating the genes cannot be ruled out. There is a great probability of the aged reactor’s ending its life-span in explosion. Great care is as yet taken in covering every reactor, and, a medley of extremely sensitive instruments are attached to it for the detection of the slightest leakage of radiation, and, special radiation proof dresses have been designed to protect the employees of the atomic plants against the ever impending hazards of radiation. Yet neither the occasional leakage or the possibility of the explosion of the reactor could anyway be avoided, nor every single member of mankind at large could be expected to be constantly wrapped up in a shroud of a dress that has been made proof against radiation and which has to be worn perpetually from birth to death like the skin itself, to be changed only in a closed radiation-proof room, for, who knows when and where the lurking radiations may be to take advantage of the occasion and attack the person during the change of dress. It is a somber picture. This world like a world of snails creeping in their radiation-proof shells. This, however, being an impossibility, not the embarrassing dress but the terrorizing hazards of the invisible and insidious radiations will be the harassing problem. The world it seems is resolved to meet a formidable foe, a foe armed dangerously to its teeth, and offers combat wearing a broken helmet with numerous holes, and carrying smithereens of a shield as a symbol of heraldry, and wearing no armour not even a shirt. This is not merely a picturesque piece of a rhetoric portrayal but this actually is the representative situation of human defence against radiation. The broken helmet is the symbol of the covered sources of radiation e.g. in reactors. They are like a broken helmet because they frequently leak. The smithereens of a shield represent the defence against the exploded reactor, while the absence of an armour, even a shirt is the emblematic representation of the defencelessness of the individual bodies of mankind at large against radiation. No humanly great sagacity is required to discover the fault of the understanding of even the most intelligent among the votaries of the atomic energy. The same may with much plausibility be said of those among the scientists who are not hesitant in recommending the use of the atomic-energy-for-peace. They are all riding the waves of the present in extreme helplessness utterly forgetful of the future. Yet whatever the degree of helplessness and howsoever great the surety of the comparative immunity of the present generation from the harmful effects of radiation, the unfailing and painful voice of conscience regarding the inseparable miseries of our future generations, our own blood ought not to be discarded, for even though we may pass our life-span in this world without any fear of retribution, we at least must remember our inevitable liability to impeachment in the next world before the throne of God where all of us, both we of this present generation and those of our future generations will stand face to face to answer for our behaviour in respect to our descendants, and in case found guilty of great wrong to our own posterity we certainly would well deserve the severest punishment, besides the extreme sorrow of our own heart. The final judgment is a logical certainty, and there is no real joy in escaping the punishment in this transient life. It indeed is erroneous to judge of the harms of radiation in the present perspective of the world as regards the situation of the atomic energy. What after all is the amount of the atomic energy today. A few brand new reactors, carefully designed and assiduously built are at the most functioning in the whole world today. They are at present at least very well managed and diligently supervised. The problem of radiations at present therefore is quite naturally negligible. Yet even at this most primitive stage of the atomic energy all is not well. There is to be heard a perpetual and distressing out-cry against the ever-increasing and embracing nuisance of the radio-active residue from the reactors. Bury it in the ground, throw it in the river or cast it in the sea, its pernicious effects can in no way be checked, inspite of every possible precaution its noxious issue of Radio-activity could not have been eliminated. So inexorably relentless is this element of radio-activity that no precautions, nor even the most bitter and most uproarious protests of its miserable victims have been of any avail in melting its callous heart. Inspite of this meagre and negligible existence of the source of atomic energy in the world at present, clear manifestations of its presence among the mankind even now are unmistakably noticeable so much so that could constitute a real basis for alarm to any eye endowed with some sagacity, and could only be overlooked by an eye whose sight has been blurred by the dizzying tyranny of the killing necessities of the modern life. The increase in the incident of cancer, the appearance of abnormal births, and disturbing genetic trouble doubtlessly attributable to the presence of the sources of atomic energy is not only noticeable but has attracted the attention of the scientist community and has been to them a cause of a grave concern. But imagine a future world of full fledged and all pervading atomic energy with thousands of large, medium and small sized reactors, stationary as well as portable, and processing plants functioning over the entire earth. The world of atomic energy will be a world in which power-houses, factories, plants, hospitals, sea ships, submarines, aeroplanes, railway engines, motor-buses, private cars and a hundred other things will have their independent reactors fraught with all the hazards of leaking and exploding. Now close your eyes and bring all that imagination that has been left by the pecuniary necessities of this age into play and see this earth instantly turned into a starry heaven in the pitch dark night of a desert. The reactors of power-houses, factories plants, hospitals, and other fixed installations scintillating like the fixed stars and shooting up beams of greenish, yellowish and multicolored rays of radiation interspersed with phosphorescent beams of hundreds of thousands of running, flying and sailing reactors of vehicles, aeroplanes and seaships, every now and then some or the other reactor exploding like a shooting star and spreading in the vicinity a flood of radiations like the milky way. It is not at all difficult for any scientist to imagine the state of the world in the atomic energy age, or the extent to which mankind will be exposed to the hazards of radiation. Nor it is impossible for him to realize the extent of misery to which mankind in general will be subjected in that age. Every sphere of human activity will be subjected to the influence of atomic radiation and every body will incur the risk of exposure to the harmful effects thereof. The sources of radiation will be so over redundant and wide-spread, and the occasions of leakage and explosion will be so frequent and indeed so close that escape will be well nigh impossible for anyone anywhere. The reactors of cars leaking and exploding, the reactors of aeroplanes leaking and exploding, the reactors of ships, factories, powerhouses and submarines leaking and exploding. Where is the possibility of escape? And the crux of the matter is that atomic radiations are not detectable by human sense. They are invisible and have no smell. They have no taste and no touch. Only in case of high doses the effects of radiation may be felt in the form of radiation sickness. Smaller doses which, although they can produce gene mutations produce no signs of radiation sickness or cancer. The victim therefore remains ignorant to the last. Nor the gene mutations could even be detected by the medical profession. Let men try to know what it means to them till it is too late. Agriculture, industry, medicine, electricity, defence, in short every department will be dominated by influence of radiation. Atomic energy will be there to irradiate crops and seeds in order to improve the quality and increase the quantity thereof. In the factories it will be there to supply power. It will be in hospitals to supply radiations or treating diseases like cancer, leukemia and tumours, the diseases which will increase in proportion to the increase in the atomic energy. It will be there in power-houses to generate electricity. It has already found its way into F.B.I and police force to render help in detecting crime. Jewelers to have a use for it. They will tag their valuable gems with radio-isotopes to ensure identification in case of theft. Judge therefore the extent of the prevalence of atomic radiations in the world. The history of the prevalence of atomic energy however, does not end with it. Indeed once mankind has embarked upon the atomic age, the atomic energy will become a house-hold affair just as the chemical energy is at present. Radio-isotopes will be there to show the farmers how to get greater returns from their billions of dollars spent on fertilizers. Tagged atoms will show the amount and the kind of fertilizer best suited to each crop. Radio-activity will help them to find better strains of plants by irradiating the seeds, and so will it help them in finding disease-resistant seed. Though possibly time only could prove whether irradiated seeds and crops were to produce any deleterious effects on the future generations and it is too early to say anything about this very dangerous aspect at present inspite of the sureties of the scientists in this respect. Some scientists are now dreaming of even making food directly from Carbon Dioxide, water and energy, and hope to learn the secret of photosynthesis by the use of Radioisotopes as tagged atoms. Whether such a dream as this will ever possibly be realized or not, is not yet known. It, however, very clearly affords a glimpse of the extent of the prevalence that the atomic energy may assume both within the minds and in the practical field in the age of the atomic energy. Such indeed were the fantasies of those pioneer operators of X-ray machines who had to pay dearly with their lives, and such indeed may be the end of those scientific fanatics who to dream of making food directly from Carbon Dioxide etc. Nothing, however, of this kind is impossible but what is overlooked by such dreamers is the factor of radio-activity and divers other factors that are at work simultaneously in the opposite direction. Poultry and animal fatters will be tested by Radio-activity. The drug will be fed to the animals to slow down their thyroid glands and make them grow faster and fatter with the same amount of food. Tagged atoms have shown that the meat and chickens thus produced will be quite harmless according to the present-day scientific estimates. The real results will, however, appear after the lapse of a long time, presumably in some future generations. Seeds, fruits, eggs and vegetables and scores of other such like things may no doubt be improved for the present time but unfortunately the effects of radiations are equally of long-term and may only appear after decades even centuries, and the treatment of these things with radiation may prove as hazardous as is the case of the gene mutations. Weather-men will use atomic energy for more accurate forecasts. Cheap heat from atoms will replace the smudge pots now used to protect oranges, lemon, and other fruits from unseasoned frosts. Drug producing plants will be grown in atomic green-houses, and radio-active forms of drugs will be developed. Some people dream, that one day atomic energy might be used to control the weather of the world. They also hope for cheap atomic power which might be used to produce rain when and where needed. They also talk of heating ocean currents that flow near land and affect the climate of lager areas. It might be presumed that the reader has not by now relapsed into a dream and is on the contrary wide awake with wonder at such fancies of though. There can indeed be no objection to such thoughts as controlling he weather, heating the seas, or causing rains when and where needed by the agency of atomic energy. Beneficial schemes and good intentions indeed, but the surprise only is excited when it is remembered that all such hopes are being entertained by those functions who have not been hitherto able to discover a single means of universal protection of human kind against the same radiation which they intend to harness in achieving all these fantastic schemes. Nor even as yet they have been able to discover a single sure cure for the injuries produced by the radiations. Judging from the present situation of the affair of radiation not even the legendary opium eater could have been expected to see such dreams or utter such hopes. The difficulty with these people is that in the heat of their optimism they completely discard the other side of the picture. They are like a hunter who is lying with his gun aimed at the prey while is yet ignorant of the adder which is creeping from behind to bite his heel. They only imagine the benefits of atomic energy but they forget its hazards including its associated hazards of atomic warfare that may throw all the world along with their fallacies pell-mells. So universal a use of atomic energy and the consequential super-abundance of atomic radiations will have ill-effects that ought not to be disregarded. Inebriation therefore ought not to be allowed to have the complete sway over one’s mind and at least some window of light be kept open even in the extremities of intoxication. Tagged atoms, the Radio-isotopes which can perform many amazing tasks will move into the production lines of numerous industries. The old tedious methods for testing engine wear and tear will be replaced by much simpler and quicker method with radio-active piston rings. Radio-active or tagged atoms will show manufacturers how tyres wear. Radio-isotopes will be used to measure wear on many parts of machines. They will be time-saving and money-saving devices. Thickness of materials such as a rubber, paper, plastics, thin metal foils and textiles will be measured by isotopes. Judging from the nature and habit of mankind it is not difficult to see how far men will go into the use of atomic energy and tagged atoms, particularly if time-saving and money-making is there. But alas, these time-savers and money-makers will remain ignorant of the nefarious, dreadful, insidious effects of the radiation appliances they used, for generations to come. They developed gene mutations. Radio-isotopes will play watch dog in still other ways. Flaws in metal machine parts can be readily found by certain radio-isotopes. For long the X-ray and Radium have been used to look through heavy metals. Radio-isotopes are used as an inspection tool for locating damaged parts and poor electrical connections in air frames for many aircraft. Radio-isotopes can protect machine operators, too. For example the hands of a punch press operator can be protected with a radio-active wrist band. If he should fail to pull his hand away in time, the machinery could be stopped automatically by the radiation. Packages can also be inspected by radio-isotopes. Packages are inspected by radio-isotopes as they pass down the production line. If a package is not properly filled, more rays pass between the isotopes and the counter on the opposite side of the package. A warning light may glow, or a machine may be adjusted to knock out a faulty package. Radio-activity can measure the height of molten metal in foundry furnaces, and can also measure the amount of water packed as snow on mountain peaks. Tagged atoms can be used to trace water-leak in under-ground pipes. Tagged atoms added to the water which goes into the pipe will leak out along with the ordinary water. The course of the pipe could be followed with an instrument that detects radio-activity. Where the clicks are more frequent, a hole could be dug straight down to the leak. In a pipeline in which a variety of materials such as diesel oil, gasoline and bunker oil flow along, radio-active atoms announce the beginning of different materials and save un-necessary draining. In soap tests in which bacteria are made radio-active, radio-isotopes act like a magic eye. To check the ability of various soaps and detergents to wash clothes, radio-active bacteria are placed on cloths and each cloth, is washed with a different soap. The bacteria remaining on each one are measured to learn how each soap cleans. Bacteria cannot be seen, for they are much too small to be seen without the help of a microscope. But if Bacteria are radio-isotopes, they become radio-active and can be easily measured with a Geiger Counter. Radio-isotopes enable the scientists to examine water under the soil, to determine its age and the amount which comes from rainfall. Samples of soil can also be studied by using cobalt 60 at the location where engineering work is being done. With this new method samples have not to be taken away to a laboratory as they were in the past. Around the world tagged atoms work for men. They check the flow of under-ground streams through the Alpse. In France they check the air tightness of underground telephone cables and help in work on under-sea cable between France and North Africa. Radio-isotopes are a new tool for industry. Many of their uses are still to be determined, but industry is already one of the best customers for the Radio-isotopes. There is hardly a manufacturer who cannot use them to find faster, simpler, more accurate answers to some problems. A number of rapidly growing companies prepare and process Radio-isotopes and manufacture instruments for their use. Several types of small reactors can be purchased by universities or industrial research groups. Radio-isotopes will bring abou
