Nepal’s first President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav & VP Jha with PM
The continuous blasts in Ahmedabad, India on July 26 evening caused yet more sufferings to hundreds of people. Everyday when one gets to know the news from Gaza to Africa and from Iraq to India, one is filled with sorrow for the whole humanity. In the rhetoric between the Pope and Khomeini, Bush and Laden, Pundits and Mullahs lie the sighs of innumerable people.
Such mass scale violence in the neighborhood makes one to ponder once again: why can’t people live in peace? What makes some people commit atrocities on their own kinds? Is human civilization developing or degenerating?
Meanwhile, Nepal’s Vice-President Parmananda Jha appeared in the “national” dress the Daura Suruwal in a cultural program the Bhoto Jatra yesterday. He defended taking oath of office in Hindi as the policy of the party from which he won the election. VP Jha denied any wrongdoing and said that he was ready to face any ruling by the Supreme Court regarding the writ against his oath.
Politics aside, although the VP looks smart in the “national” dress, one wonders how many people can carry themselves easily in Daura Suruwal, especially during summers?
