I’m never against People on Duty

Posted in Divas, nepal with tags , , , on March 30, 2013 by DIVAS

As I was returning back from the North-East, I happened to hop on a compartment reserved for the army personnel.

Initially I was sitting in front of the door, and there were other ‘civil’ people as well in the compartment. In one statition, a man demanded to clear the space I was sitting on to keep his furniture items.

So I went inside the compartment and sat on a small vacant space on the upper birth. I was doing all these thing as any normal second class traveller does. But I was not aware that it was the ‘army’ compartment, and the security people sitting there were ‘suspicious’ of me.

An officer from Darjeeling asked me to get down and sit next to him. He asked me a lot of questions – in fact, I was being interrogated.

I sensed that the army personnel there were of mixed origins, and my presence there was creating a misunderstaing among the army personnels themsleves.

Some of them were of Nepali origin, others from Sikkim, Darjeeling and other India states.

The person who was interrogating me, Mr. K, was from Darjeeling. Seeing my interest in literature, he claimed that he can converse in poems. And he did answer me in a poem, when asked about himself. He was really an ‘ashu-kavi’.

Then he said: I feel like trusting you. But my profession does not allow me to trust you. Moreover, there’re my colleagues who don’t trust you. What’s in your that bag? Why’re you travelling like this? Why did you hop on an ‘army’ compartment? etc, etc

These days, I carry a saffron colored hand bag with an emblem of Shiva on it. I bought it in Haridwar during my last visit. I’ve sensed that security people  are very suspicious of saffron colored bags.

I opened my bag and showed to him: See, there isn’t anything suspicious in my bag, just a watter bottle and a few paraphrenalia. And that I was not carrying the saffron colored bag for any ‘cultrual’ reason.

When he asked me what profession I was in, I replied: I’ve been to many professions, the last one was in the media. But,  at present, I’m only a blogger.

Mr. K was not that well versed in internet. But his younger colleague, Mr. P, checked my blog on his mobile, and declaired: OK, he’s our friend.

The army personnel of Nepali origin felt obliged to support me coz I was from their country. And now the Sikkim man was also supporting me in the name of what he said ‘humanity’. Then the Darjeeling officer declaired: On my right side lies Sikkim, and on my left side lies Nepal. They both support you. Hence, I’m also obliged to support you.

Actually, he was saying all these things not to me, but to his other fellow personnel who were against my sitting in the compartment.

Then we shook our hands, and hugged each other. Then they asked me to take rest on the upper berth and Mr. P was assigned to ‘guard’ me.

When I was resting with my eyes closed, Mr. K asked: Is he sleeping? Others said: Yes. Mr. K: I hope I didn’t say anything wrong to him. I hope he doesn’t get a negative impression of us.

Others assured him: No, he’s positive. Didn’t he called you an ‘ashu-kavi’? That’s a great compliment.

They were right. I’m never against people on duty. I’m only against bloody politicians who make people fight with each other!

Btw, today I arrived Benares from Bodh Gaya.

Shivoaham: I’m the Shiva

Shiva

When I said that even Buddha speaks from a limited perspective, a nice lady on Facebook persuaded me to think over Jesus as the only Way. That’s how people misunderstand me. What she didn’t understand that when I say even Buddha speaks from a limited perspective, I also mean that Jesus and other ‘enlightened’ beings also speak from their own limited perspective.  Similarly, from Plato to Marx and to Gandhi, no matter how respected their position may be in the history,  all of them speak from their limited perspective.

And I know that they knowingly speak from a limited perspective, coz they want to create a system. But, I’m not creating a system. Therefore, I do not follow any fixed pattern. Often I experiment. And often I make myself the object of experiment to experience things.

Whenever i find it suitable i take inspiration from all my predecessors, and whenever i think it necessary i also refute them. I experience the world. I try to see things as they’re. And I try to see things from different perspectives.  And I also seek justice for all.

And by nature, I’m highly individualistic. In that sense I resemble more to Shiva, if you’d compare me to mythological figures.  I try to see things with my third eye. You’d also find people like me among the romantic, beat and hippie poets. And also among the ‘mad’ people, although it might be debatable who’s really ‘mad’.

I’m trying to discover the root cause of human suffering of my times. Besides the lack of interpersonal skills and ignorance, the root causes of all unnecessary human suffering lie in the social systems based on false premises. Almost all the works in the history of mankind are based on false premises. And often social structures are intentionally based false premises – as an expression of power.

Not only that, most of the  so-called intellectual works and theories prescribed by the modern knowledge industry are also based on false premises. And if you’ll base your systems and values on wrong foundations, you’ll never arrive at the right conclusions. And thus mankind goes through perpetual suffering.

Diagnosing the root cause of social and political maladies and finding the right cure is never an easy process. But, it’s an unavoidable & legitimate suffering that the society must go through. The society must go through the intense pain of self-reflection to accommodate the changes demanded by today’s increasingly technological and globalized world.

Females of all Countries, Corporates & Professions, Unite!

Guys, remember that post in which I said that most of the menfolks are pigs? hahaha…

Well, I’ve sensed that some of my relatives, colleagues and friends have been offended by my that remark. They’re unhappy that I’ve exposed the brutalities of menocracy.

But I say everything from my own experience. And my experience says that not only in family life, but also in social and professional spheres, the civilization project led by men has utterly failed.

From my experience in various professions, I’ve come to conclude that even at the workplace, females are more professional, more understanding and far less political than the menfolks.

And there’s a reason why most of the men are so piggish in their behavior. For men, their ego comes before everything. Every man thinks he’s superior to others. They just can’t help it, it’s in their hormone. Testosterone is responsible   for man’s all egoistic behavior.

Even in the professional life, men are more interested in climbing the hierarchy ladder than getting things done professionally. And to climb the hierarchy ladder, men resort to cunning tactics that only create conflicts and suffering.

This is evident everywhere – from politics, to society, to academics, and to the corporate world.

Time has come for the females to lead every sphere of human activity and rescue the world from men’s atrocities.

Why don’t female scientists develop an injection that’d reduce men’s testosterone level? I’m ready to volunteer, if necessary.

Females of all countries & corporates, Unite!

(And lemme know if any pig harasses you in any way)

Can Europe Save Euro?

Posted in dr. abdul, world affairs with tags , , , on August 24, 2012 by DIVAS

By Dr. Abdul Ruff

Western finances have been in shambles. For too long, euro-zone politicians have been discussing an alternative for increasing the means available to the rescue fund without national governments being required to provide further money. The trick is to provide the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) with a banking license that would allow it, in practice, to borrow as much money as it needs from the European Central Bank. The ESM would simply buy up bonds from crisis countries and then provide these to the ECB as collateral for loans, just as normal banks do.

While governments and central banks want to preserve the euro, it looks certain that Greece and some more countires in EU may soon face bankruptcy. Most countries of Europe support the idea of a common European fiscal policy, and shared debt would be part of that. But a solution needs to be found that would ensure discipline in the individual states..

The Greek tragedy itself is merely a prelude to the real battle to save the euro. Experts see a risk that ailing countries will simply continue to borrow, unhindered, as soon as the bill is shared by the entire euro zone.

Euro bonds are meant to obscure the differences in creditworthiness among the individual euro-zone member states. Regardless whether the borrower is Italy, France or Germany, all euro-zone states would issue common bonds, Europe is eager to reduce the borrowing costs for crisis-plagued euro-zone countries.

As a result of debates, a permanent euro bailout fund is likely to be launched this year. The ESM will provide a common fund for the euro-zone countries for dealing with the debt crisis. The intention is also that the ESM would be capable of financing possible aid programs for troubled countries like Spain and Italy, though the ESM doesn’t have enough money in its coffers for that on a permanent basis.

The ESM wants to achieve an impossible lending capacity of €500 billion until mid-2014, and even that sum would be too little for fighting euro fires in the larger euro-zone countries.

The last resort in the crisis is obviously the European Central Bank. The ECB is currently debating a proposal based on the idea that the ECB could intervene and purchase bonds was enough in recent days to drive yields on Spanish government securities back under the critical level of 7 percent. The central bank would set a cap on the upper limit for interest rates on the government bonds of heavily indebted euro-zone countries. Right now, for example, it could be set at 6 percent. If yields on bonds threatened to exceed this limit, the ECB would intervene and purchase securities on the market. Given its unlimited resources, it would essentially have inexhaustible funds for these purchases.

The central bank is reliant on the trust of financial market participants. But if it began indirectly helping countries to print money, it could damage that trust in the longer term. With yield caps, the ECB would become a tool of the euro-zone member states — a development that would be extremely controversial for an institution that is supposed to be independent.

But the problem is the question of political control as the ECB isn’t answerable to any parliament, and setting fiscal policy is among the most important tasks parliaments are responsible for. So, who will monitor and control which bonds the ECB purchases and at which level a yield cap is to be imposed? Some economists argue that as a political institution the ESM, for example, should decide which countries receive bond aid and the conditions which they must fulfill in order to obtain it even as the ECB tackles the market.

Why I’m not a Politician

Poor Politicans: Do you see anyone happy?

By Divas

Often people suggest me to join politics. They say: you’ve all the ingredients of becoming a successful politician. But who wants to be a politician?

But i’m already in politics…rather say in the political process. In the sense that i influence the political process. I influence not only the national politics, but i also influence the regional and international politics.

Still, politics is not my profession. I influence not only politics, but all spheres of human endeavor. It’s also true that i’ve my friends in all political institutions. In fact, even right now, i’m working with people who seem to hold different political ideologies. But, i don’t find any difficulty in working with them. Coz, i see that their difference is only superficial. In essence, they all are the same. They’re humans.

The main reason why i’m not a politician is that i sleep ten hours everyday. And i don’t want to lose a single moment of my sleep in meaningless meetings. In fact, i pity the politicians. Look at them. They seem to be powerful. They’ve been to abroad – to Europe and America at the expense of taxpayers money. They’ve committed all sorts of crimes and corruptions. But, do they look happy?

Everyone uses them when they’re in power. And everyone curses them when something goes wrong. Every day you’d see a long line of beggars at the politicians doors. They’ve to make compromises with all sorts of people. And I don’t want to see a long line of beggars at my door. I don’t want to listen to their endless complaints. In fact, i’m not interested in others at all.

My only aim is to enjoy my life without harming others, to discover, to learn, to understand, to grow, and to influence the world positively.

India: Parties, People, Unions and Regime: The Game Interplay!

___________________

Strikes those days were organized for a better life of common people. These days, strikes in India are being muted by the regime by colluding with union leaders. As a result, strikes do not make any difference to the existing situations. Strikes make the life of people more miserable while the regime, power brokers and its agents continue to enjoy the fruit all by themselves. Strikers and people lose  most and achieve nothing. Prices are rising almost on a permanent basis and at an exorbitant rate and speed. None really bothers about sky rocketing of prices. During the last 5 years of Congress rule prices of essential commodities have  multiplied almost 300 percent.

Millions of workers took part in a nationwide general strike against price hikes, privatization and the contract work system. In May, there was a general shut down and protests by workers, youth, the rural poor and small businessmen against fuel price hikes.  But strikes produced no real results.

The strike at Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) in the southern state of Tamil State (Nadu) was one of a series of bitter struggles by workers in India in recent years. The communist betrayal of the 44-day strike by 14,000 contract workers at the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, owned by the Indian central government, has vital political lessons for the workers movement throughout world. The left oriented AITUC on June 3 “closed” the strike, without meeting any of the workers’ demands, which included equal pay with permanent workers and “regularization” of their employment.

The striking workers defied the return call order by the union to work for several days. Hundreds protested outside the local AITUC office in Neyveli and on the following day ransacked the union premises. But lacking an alternative political perspective and leadership, they were unable to sustain their rebellion. The state and owners take advantage of this phenomenon.

NLC workers maintained their strike and challenged the contract system, which is employed in public and private enterprises throughout India for the extraction of super profits.  State political charade against the strickers has a tendency to win. Political alliances between the ruling parties and affiliating union parties have made things easy for the state to defeat the strikes. . .

The central and TN state governments are instrumental in defeating the demands of the strikers and they have used the union leaders as a key tool to defeat the strike. Union leaders deliberately blocked any political fight against the state and central governments. Trade unionists have sold the movement to the state perhaps son some “usual” return favors. The AITUC and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), affiliated to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), or CPM, did everything possible to isolate the strikers.

In India, that means above all drawing the necessary political conclusions from the long history of betrayals of the communists who play a role assigned by the regime. Earlier, the CPI and CPM falsely claimed to be communist and socialist and to represent the heritage of the October 1917 Russian Revolution to work for the welfare of poor and workers. They are now completely integrated into the Indian political establishment and openly defend bourgeois rule. As a result, people have rejected their premises of defending poor and the communist parties have lost the state governments it ruled for years, West Bengal and Kerala. West Bengal Bengalis have shown they have nothing to do with Indian brand communism and have opted for Mamata Banergi as their leader. It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, for the communist to get back to reign there.

Communists, fearing aggressive nature of Hindutva BJP outfits, now promote Congress party interests and people in Kerala and West Bengal where the communists face Congress party see this as communist betrayal of popular faith.

Communism is now part of Indian politics – nothing more for people.  Communist parties consider themselves as part of rung elite. As state rulers the CPM-led communists promoted pro-market restructuring and privatization, governments have implemented anti-working class policies for the benefit of foreign and local investors.

Leftists and communists now worry too much about India’s national interest for promoting corporatists, multinationals and the rich and their concern o fro people has been reduced to supporting the corrupt regime. The regime misuses both communists and communalists to promote its corruption ridden  reign.

Corruption, under the prevailing circumstances,  cannot be wiped out of India so long as the corrupt parties like congress continue to rule.  When judiciary is weak, one doubts if any party can help India, occupying neighboring Jammu Kashmir, becoming a really corruption-free nation to provide people’s welfare measures, by withstanding pressure tactics of the rich and multinationals that control Indian Parliament and assemblies by its paid lobbyists. . . .

With communist parties losing their importance in India now, there is a greater need for a pro-people party both at central and state levels to help people – the weak, deprived, injured and insulted. A new crop of selfless leaders is the need of the hour and Anna team could have expanded their mandate to help India become a real people’s democracy! But the problem is  each member has other affiliations with which the regime maintains the nexus and control. Nothing comes out!

When the union leaders strike secret deals with the regime, the not only people’s lives but even their hopes fall a helpless victim to such political manipulations. All parties coordinate their anti-people polices and  inflationary practices and jointly vitiate the  societal atmosphere.

A mischievous regime and hopeless people.  Polls after polls people continue to suffer, bearing the brunt of regime mischief.

Yes, I’m Responsible for all the Problems in the World

By Divas

Of late, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to be ‘social’, I don’t feel like speaking with anyone.

However, even when you don’t speak, people won’t leave you alone.

They ask me: who is responsible for the problems that we’re facing right now?

And I ask them not to ask me such questions.

Coz I’ve found that people ask me questions, and when I answer their questions, they’re offended.

And they’re offended not becoz I offend them, I just state what I see, they offend themselves.

Therefore, I often ask people not to bother me with their questions.

And yet people keep on bothering me with their questions.

************************************************************************

Someone again asked me: who’s responsible for the problems in the society?

And I replied to him: you’re responsible for everything.

And, again, another person offended himself with my answer.

I don’t see any problem in the society.

The problem is in the individual.

The problem with the individual is that s/he wants to take credit when something works.

And no one wants to take responsibility when something goes ‘wrong’.

When something goes ‘wrong’, everyone wants to transfer responsibility on others.

And this is the main reason behind all conflicts: from interpersonal to all social and political conflicts.

What people don’t seem to realize that everyone is equally responsible for everything that goes right or ‘wrong’.

*************************************************************************

The reason why people don’t want to take their share of responsibility is becoz people lack spirituality.

People have become too materialist.

Since people have become too materialist, they’re not doing what makes them happy, they’re doing ‘comparative’ things: what makes them smarter, richer, higher, bigger, more powerful,…etc so that they may look down upon others.

And since people are not doing what makes them happy, they’ve become sick spiritually.

Since people are sick spiritually, they don’t enjoy what they’re doing.

And since people don’t enjoy what they’re doing, they find fault with everyone and everything.

And thus they transfer responsibility on others when something doesn’t seem to work.

And this is the singular reason behind all conflicts: YOU transfer responsibility on OTHERS.

************************************************************************

People often ask me: what are you? Rightist, Leftist, Capitalist, Communist, Socialist, Libertarian, Nationalist, Internationalist,….etc

And how can we solve the problems in society and in the world?

People ask me such questions coz they divide the world in two or more folds…they’re still materialists.

Materialists always divide the world in two or more folds, coz they must transfer responsibility on others when something doesn’t seem to work.

People don’t realize that there is yet another dimension, there is yet another approach of looking at the world.

*********************************************************************

I do not divide the world in two or more folds: for me all the world is one, everything in the world is interlinked.

And therefore, I cannot transfer responsibility on others.

And therefore, I do not fit in your definitions.

I cannot feed your ego by saying that someone else is responsible.

I will say that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE.

I see that everyone is responsible when something goes right.

And everyone is responsible when something goes left.

And I can’t help if my answer doesn’t satisfy you – please don’t bother me.

And if you cannot be happy unless you transfer responsibility on others, transfer it on me.

Yes, I’m responsible for everything that goes right or left.

Father Gandhi vs. Mother India

Iswor Allah Tero Naam: Abdul Gaffar Khan & Gandhi

BY Dr.Abdul Ruff Colachal
Although denied the Nobel Prize for his freedom movement leadership, MK Gandhi is a historical phenomenon who led successfully the last part of Indian freedom struggle to regain independence from UK colonizers and is hailed as father of Indian nation. Although he championed the freedom cause and fought against UK oppression, Gandhi did not have a proper vision of future India except that the country should pursue a sort of “non-violent” course. However, he did not oppose to India becoming a weaponized nation, becoming another colonial hegemon in annexing its neighbor Jammu Kashmir and consequently, becoming a terrorist state in genocides, rapes, destructions, tortures and various other forms of state atrocities.

A British Favorite?
If the British rulers, who had killed many in groups, really wanted to make Gandhi “disappear”, as many Kashmiris and their leaders have been meted out thus far by an arrogant India, they could have done it in a matter of minutes. But they seemed to groom him for Indian cause. Similarly, the Britishers did care about MK Gandhi and, unlike what terror India has done to Kashmiri freedom leaders like Syed Geelani, the English men were quite considerate about the well-being of him. Look at the way the Indian government has done to Kashmiris. Over a lakh Kashmiris have been murdered by occupying India terror forces. Even Kashmiri women children are tortured and harassed on their own lands by foreign forces. Senior freedom leader Geelani has been ailing for quite some time due to harsh treatment meted out him for decades, arresting him on a regular basis and mentally torturing for sadistic pleasure of Indian strategists.

Not many Indians have either realized or recognized a crude fact that their “Bharat mata” (mother India), has been an anti-Muslim, invader, illegal militarizer, oppressor, a fraud and killer– all in one- in her neiborhood and its greed for Muslim blood, like its strategist partner USA, has been too much. Bharat mata has clearly and conveniently ignored Bharat pita (Father India), Gandhi and his non-violent advices. Bharat mata has buried deep in the nuclear arsenals the name of pita and pretends she has not done any thing wrong. On the one hand, the mata laments that Indian young political “children” have totally forgotten about rashtra pita (nation’s father), and on the other, it has systematically sidelined the principles of pita and values of his ‘ism’.

It is alarming that Gandhian India has occupied its neighbor Jammu Kashmir, built up its weapons arsenals, both nuclear and conventional, in a reckless spree threatening its neighbors. Bhatat mata’s double speak is exposed as it also talks about regional speak. Her dutiful “children” worship her perhaps not aware of its Doctrine to destabilize the regional nations. But they should tell their beloved mata not to kill the children of Kashmir and not to kill the innocent children there to quench her Islamic blood thirst.

Not many Indians know that behind the shield of mother India the terrorist instinct hides comfortably and gaily kills innocent Kashmiris is a sustained manner as a matter of routine matter. Can these children of Bharat still love blood thirsty mother India? Bharat Mata still pretends she is not aware of the whereabouts of Bharat pita, whom she had berried underneath the nuclear arsenals. She is even ashamed of him, because invocation of his name would jeopardise the new Indian nuclear goals.

An Effective Fascist Tool
Over decades of its existence even by fighting wars with Kashmiris and Pakistanis along with wars, terror India has used the slogan as an effective tool to terrorize Muslims. It is the military forces occupying Jammu Kashmir, killing innocent Kashmiri Muslims that accord greatest importance to Bharat mata on whose behalf they do these atrocities in that nation making Kashmiri blood bleed profusely.

Indian media harp on the theme of Islamic terrorism and try with the help of the secret service agencies to fabricate illusionary links with Muslims who are denied their due in national development and denied even payment for the their government services at times. As it is known, national and regional media are atrociously anti-Muslims. Recently a few Kerala Muslims were murdered by Indian terror forces in Jammu Kashmir, but the Kerala media and intelligence try to ink them with “terrorism” and ISI, “trained in Pakistan”, and etc…in order to justify the killing of Muslims by state Hindus far away. Bulk of Kerala media are run by Christian-Hindu lobbies and they, at par with their counterparts in other states, brand the Muslims as potential terrorists. When a Hindu is killed in JK, obviously the media would paint a different picture stating that Kashmiris terrorists have killed a Malyali Hindu, cleverly supported by fiction photos.

State Hindu fascism could be observed every where in the country. Bharat Mata is invoked more vigorously by military forces as they equate Bharat mata with themselves. It is a known fact not many would stick to military services if his salary is cut by a few rupees a or the facilities and privileges are removed, like free or duty-free liquors and that they are more bothered about their “power’ and status in the establishment. Any one who travels by Indian trains any where would testify the fact that military personnel would take the bogies to ransom and even beat and thrown passengers out of running trains. And they would go scot-free. They show their “power’ to the ordinary passengers and want them to salute them literally. The military personnel disregarding and discarding their place in society, drink heavily in compartments by sharing the “bottles’ with TTEs and other important passengers, because the liquors come cheap if not free. Once fully down under kick, they terrorize the passengers.

Recently, during the monsoon, I was travelling from New Delhi to Trivandrum by super fast train which was diverted to a different route due to some rail damage on the regular track. Since the train route was changed, not many reserved passengers boarded the train. In the night some military guys came to my side with bottles and started boozing. I requested them to go to another side that was also empty. But these “powerful” guys did not care and drank with a loud slogan of Bharat mata ki jai (great India …) etc., and started abusing Muslims and me. One of them broke a bottle and came to kill me with the bottle piece. But another civil passenger came to rescue and I was safe. No TTE was available in the entire train; I ran inside the bogies all around but located none). What exactly was the matter is not clear to me, but the military had chosen people form the South to terrorize me.

Eventually, the “Bhatrat mata” means state terrorism, military power, privileges, destruction and genocide. A state terrorist mother India can not do miracles for its own people, even if her children love her too much for her Muslim blood thirst.

Indian Double-mindset
India very systematically maintains double standards in every aspect of its affairs both at home and abroad. In foreign policy, it says it follows a peaceful one while it tries to destabilize its neighbours and terrorises its neighbour Kashmir by showcasing its weapons muscle, it threatens its neighbours in particular the Kashmiris. In economic front, it claims to be the “Asian giant” making its neighbours feel insecure and shaky. India has squeezed the economic power of common people to make a strong capitalist class. On the other hand, New Delhi goes on begging the Western powers in all possible ways.

Mother India has comfortably showcased its image in a dichotomy too. On the one hand, India claims to be an economic giant, and on the other, goes around the developed world with a begging bowl. It depends on Japan, USA and EU for the required boost of the Indian capitalist class under former reserve bank chief, Manmohan. One does not know why the cash rich India needs money form Japan, EU, USA and other developed nations, when it is also trying to find suitable avenues to invest its own money in Mideast, Central Asia, and Russia etc.?

Bharat mata is unable to arrest the upward inflation trends in the country. One striking phenomenon is that owing to the reckless spending on non-human needs, Indian Rupee value also has plunged downwards. Corruption has been rampant in every sector. The rupee last week reached its crucial 50-level against the greenback on sustained dollar purchases by foreign banks and stronger dollar overseas. The rupee tumbled to 50.05 levels after resuming weak at 50.00/01 a dollar ahead of Reserve Bank’s mid-term review of monetary policy later in the day. It is not quite clear as yet as to who all are effectively cornering the wealth in the country under the slogan of mother India, energy, anti-Pakistanis terrorism!

Post-script: Gandhian or Mother India.
One wonders as to why Gandhi failed to clinch the Nobel peace award and why India has remained anti-Muslim. In spite of strenuous efforts by Indian state and central governments to make the Nobel Peace prize Jury to favor “Mahatma” Gandhi with a prize, Gandhi could not get the Prize and more than once he was rejected after being short-listed under pressure from Indo-UK leaders. The obvious reason was Gandhi had nothing for universal truth as his actions were predominantly pro-Hindu and Hindutva. At one point, he even advocated a war against Pakistan. This explains why post-Gandhian “Bharat mata’ has become so arrogant, so manipulative and a state terrorist. It is atrocious how India has been managing to woo all the terrorist powers, including USA and Israel for securing a seat on the UNSC!

By insistently ignoring the ideas of the father India for a peaceful existence, mother India has made the country a nuclearized power that flirts around the capitalist nations for reasons known only to herself. By renouncing peaceful path and non-capitalist path of development India has also shed its Non-aligned mission quite conveniently. Indian leadership decides according to the dictates of the USA and its own military intelligence that has got its own hidden terror agenda in the region, not just in Jammu Kashmir.

Today, Gandhians are fond of extra cash, special privileges, foreign liquors and full non-vegetarianism. They also make a lot extra money too and one does not know how many of modern Gandhians have accounts in Swiss bank! Eventually, the “Bhatrat mata” means state terrorism, military power, privileges, fraud, destruction and genocide. A state terrorist mother India, therefore, can not do miracles for its own people.

India is indeed a fascist, terrorist state. When mother India has become synonymous with military power and genocide of Kashmiri Muslims, one can easily conclude that both mother India and father India have done enough damage to India, Muslims in India and Kashmiris. The awkwardly emotional slogan “Bharat mate ki jai” is being raised at many spots in the country, quite violently, for the sake of special privileges for a few persons. The pro-India Kashmiris leaders, who are playing in the bloody hands of Bharat mata in taking part in her mischievous polls in JK, are in fact betraying Kashmir cause. Indians would have boldly called them the traitors if they were Indians. The pro-Hindutva leaders in Kashmir are no less anti-Kashmiris as the plain pro-India elements trying to come to power to kill the innocent Kashmiris by getting more terror troops from New Delhi. Bolo Nuclear mata ki jai! Then one should also praise lavishly about Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals, too?

An Assessment on Challenges faced by Nepal’s Maoist-led Govt

This year’s month-long season of festivals Vijaya Dasami & Deepawali(Tihar) concludes in Nepal with the celebration of BhaiTeeka(Bro-Sis Day) on Oct 30. However, there remains one more festive occasion, & perhaps the greatest for the Nepali Hindus along the southern plains – the Chatha. This year, Nepali Muslims celebrated their Eid that fell during the Dasain days with extra jubilations – for the first time in predominantly Hindu country Nepal, Nepal Govt recognized the Eid as one of Nepal’s national festivals & declared the day as a public holiday. Similarly, the Christmas has also been recognized as a public festival of Nepal. And the reporters of international media in Kathmandu enjoyed reporting the news of a republican Nepal with the Maoist-led govt becoming even more inclusive in adopting diverse religious & cultural festivals.

However, a tricky winter awaits the conclusion of festivals – for both climatic & political reasons. Not only that the global economic recess & fuel crisis adversely affects the so-called mostly agrarian economy of Nepal, but the power crunch that forced to go for a nationwide load-shedding for about 50 hrs a week would only deteriorate in the dry winter season. After the Kosi floods that paralyzed transport along the National Highway, most of the industries in eastern Nepal are on the brink of collapse. The Nepal Electricity Authority warned of a possible system collapse unless the consumption during peak hours was not minimized. Nepal’s carbon footprint average has also sharply gone up this year despite the worst fossil fuel crisis Nepal has ever faced since the ban by India in 1989. Why are Nepalis following the global trend of energy squandering?

Moreover, the Federation of Nepalese commerce & industry entrepreneurs, the FNCCI, has formally handed over a memorandum to PM Prachanda warning of closing all industries unless law & order conditions improve in the country. Answering to a question by a BBC correspondent on the national responsibility of the entrepreneurs, the FNCCI President Kush Kumar Joshi said, “How can we work by risking our lives amidst increasing kidnappings by the outlaws, & continuous strikes by the workers?” Although Nepal observed the largest number of tourist arrival this year in the past 10 years owing to affordability & hospitality, the number might dwindle down unless the global economy & local law & order conditions improve immediately.

Ironically, the greatest threat to personal security & property comes from the sister organizations associated with the political parties themselves. All the political parties have modeled their youth wings on the Maoists’ Young Communist League (YCL). Moreover, some of more than scores of armed outfits that claim to work for “Madhesi Liberation” & operate along Indo-Nepal Border have already refused the Govt call for the dialogue. Nepali Muslims who constitute the second largest population in Nepal & have been living for generations not only along the plains, but also in the hills of Gorkha, Kaski, Lamjung etc. I was myself amazed to see Nepali Hill(Pahadi) Muslims in Gorkha attired with black Topi(hat) & striped blue lungi with long beards and shaven mustaches.

The religious extremists all over the world can learn some lessons from Nepali Muslims who have earned their respect from all Nepalis for keeping harmony & tolerance despite the recent Mosque attacks by suspected Hindu fanatics from across the border. However, some Nepali Muslims have strongly reacted to repeated attacks on their holy places. Similarly, Christians too have been complaining of discriminatory measures by the State. Still, thankfully cultural tolerance is one innate quality of Nepali society.

The Maoists who are the most powerful political unit at present must observe extreme care while venturing on troubled waters. Nepalis voted for the Maoists despite the latter’s bloody past for only one reason – that the Maoists are comparatively less corrupt & also have renounced violent political path. Nepal was perhaps never this much united ideologically that made it possible for the “velvet” implementation of the republic. Instead of wasting their energy on unsuccessful attempts at further radicalizing politics; the Maoists better demonstrate to the world a revolutionary concept in responsible governance. If the Maoists merely delivered good governance & observed financial discipline, Nepalis would surely be persuaded to follow what Chairman Prachanda calls, the “new cultural revolution” – peacefully.

For, Prachanda is not alone to fear that the nation might reel into another cycle of violence if the present Maoist-led coalition government fails its purpose.

BTW: Welcome to General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon from the United Nations, an organization Nepalis look with high regard.

Nepal at Crossroads

nepal_distric_map.gif FDRN: Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal(proposed)

By Divas

The three prominent issues Nepal is facing at the end of 2007 are:

*Federalism

*Electoral System

*Republic Vs Monarchy

Madhesi & Indigenous Movement

The demands of Madhesi & other agitating indigenous groups are:

*their own states under the central federal rule

*Fully Proportional Electoral System(FPS) for the Constituent Assembly(CA) polls.

Madhesi demand of declaring the whole Southern Stretch, the Tarai, as one single Madhes state may not be acceptable to other indigenous groups like Tharuwans sharing the same land.

Similarly, the demarcation of overlapping Limbuwan & Khambuwan states in the hills are also problematic.

However, the demands of identity & representation can not be ignored any longer,and-must be solved through dialogue, negotiations, or third party mediation(the UN).

Monarchy Vs Republic

Nepali type of monarchical institution which represents one particular religion, culture, & ethnic identity works well only in largely homogeneous societies.

A country as heterogeneous as Nepal in terms of racial, ethnic, religious, cultural, & linguistic diversity can not sustain monarchy within modern democratic parameters.

Hence, the future course of events now depends on two key issues:

*Whether the Seven Party Alliance(SPA) takes into confidence the various ethnic & regional groups to conduct the CA Polls by mid-April as promised.

*Whether the King accepts the SPA decisions regarding monarchy and abdicates the throne voluntarily if necessary.

Despite the fears of more chaos by some analysts, the demands of all armed and non-armed groups from the hills to the plains must be addressed peacefully even if that requires adoption of federalism, republic, & FPS for the CA polls.

At the personal level, everyone should learn some form meditation technique like Vipassana, and cultivate a spiritual but not dogmatic outlook in their life.

Happy New Year to All.
