Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and ‘Indian Idol’ Prashant Tamang (second and third form right respectively) pose for photo after a rendezvous at Koirala’s official residence Baluwatar, Kathmandu, Saturday (Sep 29, 07). Indian Idol contestants Deepali Kishore (L) and Ankita Mishra (R) were also present during the meeting.
It’s really strange that Prashant is getting support not based upon his merit but due to his ethnicity.
It’s even more ridiculous that Nepalis are taking his victory as if Nepal has been Victorious over India.
No-one should ignore that Prashant is, in fact, an Indian. And it’s the Indians who should be proud of being more democratic and inclusive.
And the song that Prashant sang: “Gorkahli keto, who chops off his enemy’s heads” :what does that indicate or Nepali mentality?
Aren’t they accepting the offer to become scapegoats of war, swayed by the hegemonical praises?
Wise people would only laugh over all these foolishness supported by the media.
As someone justly remarked, when Prashant won the Indian Idol, “a person of Nepali origin, simple, and laborious guy from minority community won; but many good artists lost.”
Why such things happen?
Is my caste only my most important qualification?
Had been any other person from the mainstream India like Delhi, Bombay, etc against Prashant instead of another even more marginalized minority Amit form …(i forgot where), can anyone guess the violence that might have erupted along the stretch of Indo-Nepal Bordrer - especially around Silligudi?
